Oh come on. Wilson puts up the same stat line that White put up against Minnesota, but with Wilson getting 2 more TDs and one fewer INT, and half the Jets fanbase wants to crucify Wilson while building a statue for Mike White. Wilson could have played better. Detroit isn't as bad as their ranking (their play over the last ~6 months is night and day from the first chunk of their season), but they are still bad enough at D that I wanted to see a bigger game from Wilson. But he responded to tie the game twice in the 2nd Quarter and then came through with a TD drive to put the team up by 4 points with four minutes left in the 4th quarter. He did what he needed to do to win the game. The defense gave up a 4th down 50+ yard TD to a tight end who they left completely unmarked (I think it was Quincy Williams, though Mosley looked mighty pissed at himself, too). Even then, Wilson pulled off some heroics to give his team a chance to win in the closing seconds.

So yeah, 3 points against are on Wilson. 7 points against are on Mann and the punt team. 7 points against are on the defense. From there, you can complain about the offensive line being a sieve and the RB's combining for just 50 yards (7 of which came from Wilson himself, and 13 more were negated by a holding call on Fant). You can complain about Saleh's brain fart re: time outs. You can question the pass rush (with Quinnen out, you expect Rankins, Lawson, and Johnson to step up--no sacks, and Lawson only has 1 sack in his last 4 games). You can complain about the lack of takeaways by the vaunted Jets D (none at all for three games running), or their mental errors on 4th down lately.

At the end of the day, Wilson put the team up with four minutes left to play and the opposing team needing a TD. Could he have done more? Sure. But he did enough to win. This is one where the team let him down.
The reason for the Mike white love is the low bar set by his predecessors. I for one am not on the Mike white hype train. IMO neither should be jets next season

That Patriots loss was f***ing UNBELIEVABLE.

Dumbest way to lose I've seen in forever.
That is the pats butt fumble.

That was pass interference. I get why they didn’t call it, but if I was a Washington fan I’d be pissed.

I thought Jones was impressive. I really see what he would do with 1 or 2 legit receivers.

KT is gonna be a problem for teams for a long time. This was his coming out party.

That being said, a win is a win. Clinch a spot and get ready for the playoffs.

This is why I'm not ready to bolt on the guy:

The Jets are just indeed a cursed franchise, no other way to put it. It doesn't matter who the coach is, the coaching staff, the QB, the players, etc. They'll find ways to blow games and collapse seasons like no other team can.

Katfka has been bad since the Seattle game.
I've seen film study that pretty much proves he's had to significantly dumb down and change the offense because of the inability of the interior OL to provide any kind of time to Jones, as well as our WR corps inability to separate. We can't run anything that takes time to develop, because Jones has pressure immediately in his face. Hell, we have to run an insane amount of shotgun snaps, more than any other team in the league, because of this.

Not that there isn't room for criticism of the OC, but I don't know what he's supposed to do. Jones needs to get the ball out of his hand, because he faces pressure immediately on dropbacks. His WRs can't separate, so Jones needs to place the ball perfectly for there to even be a chance of a completion. Even then, our receivers straight up dropped 3 or 4 balls last night.

Our roster is straight up terrible. A parting gift from Gettleman. It's frankly amazing we're looking at a playoff bid. We should be one of the worst teams in the league with our roster and all the injuries we've piled up. Coaching matters. Kafka's hand is basically a 2-7 off-suit every single play.

That DJ pass on 4th and 9 took a lot of balls.
It was PI at the end of the game but it was also hands to KTs face on the same play. That gets ignored.

You are exactly right. The game plan was all quick hitting plays to neutralize WFT defensive line. Our oline showed they can't block the week before.

we just never throw the ball downfield. our receivers suck no matter where their routes take them. at least back the defense up with the threat of a downfield passing play.
DJ is really good going deep but the game plan was to keeo DJ standing. Our Oline has 4 weak pass blockers. No time to go deep vs WFT Dline.

Kayvon Thibodeaux got poked in the eye on the play which also wasn't called, so being fair at best they would have negated each other for a redo (better for Was of course than the actual outcome)
