The Jets had so many injuries it feels like a loss.

Great defensive effort though.

Zach is unwatchable.
bro its insane how injured they are. Hopefully they were precautions and they all come back next week because without Davis, AVT, Moore, and especially Hall this offense would be even worse than it currently is. And yeah, Zach sucks, #2 overall pick from a year ago and hasn't shown a single flash of elite talent yet. Even Darnold showed more, and had a lot less to work with.

Sign / trade for a legitimate veteran starting QB in the offseason, forget trying to develop a franchise QB this team can't do it.

If Wilson is as bad as everyone says that's pretty concerning for the Jets. Jones was terrible under Garrett but he had much less talent and a horrendous offensive line and the worst OC in history.

The Giants are making me feel better about the Rangers but they're not going to win it this year and I thought the Rangers might so it puts a damper on things. Good news is that it looks like you can win with Jones and Daboll seems like easily the best coach we've had since Coughlin. Hell, he's so far done more with less than any coach I've seen on the Giants.

With some of the major subtractions, and almost no additions outside of draft picks, this roster is arguably worse than last season. Daboll and his coaching staff are the reason this team is where it is (along with Saquon finally being healthy). Still, I'm just enjoying the ride. Being 6-1 in one-score games probably isn't going to happen again anytime soon, and the team will likely regress to the mean later on this season, or the next.

I don't think the Giants are true contenders, and I frankly don't care. I'm just enjoying the ride. We all expected this to be a typical rebuild season where you win 3-5 games. I still think it is (a rebuild season), regardless of our record, but I love the way this team is competing. Sprinkle in a dash of luck, and we're very likely to make the playoffs this season. It doesn't change the long-term prospectus that much, IMO, but it's fun to win.

Potentially, we'll know for sure tomorrow. For what it's worth, I don't think it's an ACL injury, but a bone bruise or meniscus tear.
The play didn't look bad, so if he was really banged up, I'd expect the worst. If it is a sprain, that would be a blessing. Sit a month and should be able to come back.

I think the team is doing a terrible job with Zach and the passing game in general.

You have gamebreaking talent. Get them in space and have Zach use 3step drops more often. Elijah Moore over the middle/crossing? Quick hitters/Slants. Posts. etc...

I never see anyone open.

The Packers and Titans were the top teams in their respective conference last year not 2019 and the Ravenns are good every year save last year when they were ravaged by injury. And them being on the road is accounted for. They're a pick em game against a team that is 2-4 and is historically worse. And maybe just maybe when people were evaluating their roster they underestimated and it didn't account for certain things like Lawrence, Thomas, and Barkley being all pro players.
Titans have only lost 2 games this season. (Giants and Buffalo)

How you gonna pay him, Jones and Lawrence? They need a legit WR still.
You think Barkley is gonna take a discount?
I dont see how this works out.
They will sign DJ for 3 years and tag Barkley. They will cut KG and they already picked up Dex's 5year option.

I don't watch the Jets game but that rookie RB looked amazing. Really tough break. Feel bad for them.

I'm curious if anyone here thinks that injuries are a fatal flaw in the NFL? It's just so hard to get excited for a season where half the team will invariably get an ACL injury and the Super Bowl will be played between two mash units.
I’m really only interested in fantasy football but I’m of course on board with this take. The injuries are getting much more frequent and much more severe. I think NFL players are literally pushing the boundaries of what human bodies are capable of doing with respect to size, weight, and speed. Every week in the NFL is a mass casualty event.

Absolutely, I mean, the human body wasn't meant to be playing american football in the first place.

Add to that capitalism's endless drive for more, faster, better, and its history of ignoring any human factor in that pursuit, all of it has me extremely pessimistic of the sport surviving long term.

Having a good coach like Daboll has basically instantly put the Giants into contender status in the current NFL.

The Giants may be bucking some analytical trends but having the ability to hang around in games and win games that maybe you shouldn't is very valuable, especially in an NFL that is increasingly rife with coaches who seem like they're actively trying to lose by getting in their own way and galaxy braining themselves into stupid decisions. Having a smart coach like Daboll who is never going to make a bad decision instantly makes the Giants one of the better teams in the league. A solid defense, playmaker like Barkley and a QB who can run to keep plays alive despite not being the best passer (he's gotten much better to his credit) is going to keep them legitimately in the hunt. It's not impossible to picture them winning a playoff game or two and being that they're a team that seems like they can hang around and find ways to win, it's not impossible (although unlikely) to picture them going on a run. Adding a WR or two back into the lineup who isn't a practice squad level player will help too.

Having Daboll now just makes it all the more frustrating looking back at the MacAdo/Shurmur/Judge carousel we were on the past few seasons. Imperfect and flawed teams for sure, but none of them should've been as terrible as they were.

As for the Rangers, they're 6 games into an 82 game season so I wouldn't get ahead of yourselves with being disappointed in them. They're going to be fine.

Likely this is not the year for the Giants but they have a bright future with Daboll and (probably) Barkley and Jones. That said, I've been waiting for a cup favorite since I started watching and really thought that's what I'll see this year from the Rangers but the last two games have been depressing. I've seen the Giants win but haven't the Rangers (I was 8 when they won apparently I was watching at least some of the game but I don't remember). If I had to choose a dominant hockey team or football team I would choose the hockey team 100 times out of the 100 because they play 5 times as many regular season games.

I just want a @Machinehead approved Rangers team for once.
