yesterday was the best Jets performance in what feels like 5 years. I didn't know football teams were allowed to score 40 points. Also, ZERO turnovers? I know Miami was down to their 3rd QB but all 3 phases were working. Man if only the offensive line didn't all die the team might actually be somewhat decent.

Drafting offensive playmakers actually helps, only took these morons 20 years to realize it.

Also, I love Brian Daboll. I love what he's done with this squad. He is a man who knows how to make lemonade with dried up rinds.
Daboll was also the Rongos good luck charm in the playoffs iirc.

....
Slater is not being dealt for a 3rd roounder. Maybe a conditional 1st but LAC has no reason to make this trade since it doesn't help them this season. Jets have no reason to make this trade since it doesn't help them this season.
feel free to disagree, but let's get what I said correct.
You are wrongly quoting me as "a 3rd rounder". What I actually said was a min of a 3rd rounder immediately upfront and an additional pick which would be a min 4th, but which could up to a 2nd (this is on top of the 3rd).
Remember also, Slater is out for the year.
It does help LAC this yr b'c that 3rd is a chip they can use, or can defray vs a higher pick of their own for immediate help now if they want to go that route.

Like I said, Jets have some serious quality pieces, but OL is a concern.

Should try a long range move:
deal 2024 3rd + conditional 2024 4th to Chargers for OL Slater, out for the year w/injury

conditional pick upgrades to a 2nd if Slater ______________________ (demonstrates production)

why LAC:
slater not gonna play this yr
they leverage risk on how well he plays on return, and more importantly, get an asset they can use now for immediate help if they wannna go there. So e.g., an extra 3rd could make palpable coughing up a 2nd for OL help somewhere

why NYJ:
concede it is a gamble, but if Slater returns sufficiently, he will be worth the picks

Slater is being considered for a January return. Not sure where you got he definitely won't play this year. And why the hell would they ever trade him?

That deal you proposed is hot garbage.

LA is not trading Slater in his second year unless he commits a major crime or starts dating Kim K

I was under impression he was done for the season, but not severe enuf injury to be career ending.
If that is wrong, then certainly, no deal to be had.

If that is correct, a def 3rd down now on a gamble and an additional pick no worse than a 4th and as high as a 2nd is not a slam dunk, they may still prefer to keep Slater, wait and see. But a 3rd + for an injury diminished 1st is not crazy bad.

As to Kim K, wouldn't say no despite all the unwanted baggage. Serious backfield in motion.
Howev, if I had a choice, go with classic Ann Margret. (check out Carnal Knowledge)

Must be something in the water or the cheese that turns these GB QBs into assholes in the twilight of their careers
Astute diagnosis, Dr. Bombay.
I am bewitched by it!

Stud offensive tackles in their primes are not going for second day draft picks. :D

The Jets draft picks the last two years are just killing it. Gardner, Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, and Alijah Vera-Tucker have been outstanding this season. Add on that Jermaine Johnson has been strong, Wilson looks like he is at least someone that can manage a game, Elijah Moore is someone that can be a WR2 in an offense, Michael Carter is a 1B RB, MCII has been solid at nickel, and Max Mitchell is way ahead of the curve.

A lot of young, cost controlled talented for the next 3-4 years. There is a window where this team will be able to add even more to this group and become a contender. There are areas of concern, but the foundation of the team is in place for years to come.

I'm a Giants fan but the Jets had a great draft. They got 2 guys I really wanted before the draft in Wilson and Sauce.

Both teams look like they had great drafts. Still need to see Wan'dale Robinson, but the top 7 picks combined for both teams look like hits to me and Bellinger has been a good contributor as well.

Agreed, but that was not the premise
which was that Slater was now a MAYBE stud available again AFTER this season
at which pt it was still a ? as to how far off from top form he would be.
No offense but its not realistic. Even if out for the season LA is not trading a young probowl tackle for a second day draft pick.

The Giants being in on DJ Moore is intriguing. I understand if they don’t do it, but you get him and Robinson back along with Slayton and suddenly you have some weapons. That would help Barkley too because suddenly opposing defenses would have to respect the pass more.

That being said I know money is tight and it might be better to go and draft a receiver this spring.

I don't think the DJ Moore stuff is anything more than a Twitter account making up a rumor.

Jets offense has been the same for 20 some odd years...

poor play design... poor play calling.

Get me Sean Payton... the things he will be able to do with this much talent

Defense looks good today at least.
Defense looks strong but the entire league is predicated to offense. We have yet to make that adjustment.

Zach has 4-5 seconds to throw and literally no one is open. How can play design be so poor? Sure, he needs to get rid of the ball and check it down but how is that much talent not open?
