Good thing the Giants won those last two meaningless games of the season!

Idiots.

Chicago, Washington, NE all likely to take QB's 1-2-3.

At this rate Marvin Harrison's kid may even be around at 6. Take him, Rome, or Nabers (in that order for me) and call it a day.

Run Lock for the year and see what he has. If the line improves he could be decent, but the team is still going to be 6-11 or 7-10 at best.

I hope Ewers doesn't blow a knee in his senior year. Fingers crossed for him in 2025:rolleyes:
Didn't Chicago just spend 2 first round picks on a QB 2 years ago?
Didn't NE just draft a QB in the first round in 2022 as well?

I'm amazed how many QBs taken in the first round nevermind in the top 10 have not shined nearly as much as fans hoped. Bryce Young was the #1 last season. People are already down on him. Last preseason Picket was the next great hope for Pitt. Today he was traded. Desmond Ridder wqas traded as well this week. Anyone heard from Malik Willis? Actually all the QBs from the 2022 draft disappointed except the very last pick of the NFL draft (Purdy). Anyone remember the 5 cant miss QBs from 2021? NY Jets fans do. Speaking of that 2022 draft last preseason all the experts were talking about Justin Fields being a MVP candidate in 2023. Now they can't find him a job.

Ridder and Lewis were I believe both deep 3rd round picks.

But your point is taken. General rule of thumb is each draft produces exactly one 10+ year starting quarterback.

You are right they were drafted later. I just included them because some fans and talking heads pushed them as possible round 1 guys.

No one distinguishes being bad and tanking. Tanking creates a losing culture that doesn't work and has never led to a title. Look at the 76ers. It's one of those ideas such as Bonds and LBJ being goats, PEDs helping pitchers throw harder, speed being a PED, and pre-Canseco players cheating with PEDs that demonstrate a lack of knowledge and are easily disproved. As Bob Costas said about people who think pre-Canseco players cheated with PEDs "It just shows how dumb they are". I'm gonna ignore posts in the MLB thread that disagree with any of this. Google is your friend.

So frustrating.

And obviously not frustrated at the actual players or coaches. It's their livelihood.

But all the fans on social media parading their "real fandom" can suck a fat one.

Yeah. Pickett is in his own class there, though. Guy should have probably been a day three selection. No idea WTF the Stoolers were thinking.

Joe Douglas actually answered the bell and fixed the offensive line. Still would like to see another tackle either drafted or signed because Smith always misses some games.

I'm talking about rooting for losses rather than wins. Trading Barkley as he wasn't part of our long term future. That's it.

I read some nice things about Pickett as a person in college. Hopefully he finds his niche.

It is interesting that the team traded Leo but not Barkley. They still had an outside shot at the playoffs but maybe there wasn't a huge trade market for a RB rental?

There was another rumor story this week about the Giants. It is just one of many that turns out to be false. Paul Schwartz of the NY Post is a pretty reliable guy. I appreciated how he started his article because that is how little faith I have in the media in the internet age. Its no longer double check your stories. It is be first now.

It is a heckuva story. A bombshell, really.

If only it were true.

Prior to the Smith signing, it sure seemed like the Jets were locked into taking one of the top three tackles in the NFL Draft — Penn State’s Olu Fashanu, Notre Dame’s Joe Alt, or Oregon State’s Taliese Fuaga.

Now, the signing of Smith opens up so many possibilities.

The Jets can draft a wide receiver if someone falls to them, or they can go with Brock Bowers. The Georgia product is a tight end, not a receiver, but could still be used as the Wilson complement the Jets covet.

Or, the Jets can still draft a tackle and have them sit a year or act as a depth piece in the case of an injury to Smith or Moses.

Essentially, the Smith signing allows the Jets to take the best available player.

The Giants remain open-minded as it pertains to the draft. All options are on the table at No. 6, even after signing Lock, sources told SNY.

The main position to watch here is quarterback, specifically Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy. The buzz is there that he’s the player the Giants want. League sources spoke highly of McCarthy when polled by SNY. One high-ranking executive said he’ll be a "better pro than college player." Another general manager said he has everything teams look for — size, athleticism, arm strength, accuracy, played in a pro-style offense. He added "he’s also very coachable."

I was wondering if the Giants had any interest in Becton. I know he has been unreliable after a good rookie year. I just figured maybe he could be a low dollar signing.

I'm guessing that part of the reason he's still unsigned is that he might be pricing himself a bit high. He's always had a level of confidence that didn't quite match his performance/offseason work. He visited with Cincy two days ago and still isn't signed. Could be an issue of who blinks first.

Overdrafting McCarthy would tell me that this organization has learned nothing and will continue to do nothing for another 5 years.

If he's available in the 2nd round? Sure! Heck of a pick and gamble. If they pick him at 6 the remote is going through the TV.
