In regards to Mahomes on Nov 1 2021 the Giants had KC beat. Mahomes threw a late int that was wiped out on a bogus call. Mahomes gets as many calls as anyone not named Brady.

If Douglas is running the draft I can't see them picking a QB. Douglas will be drafting solely for 2024 impact, knowing that if the team doesn't get it done in 2024 there will be no future for him to worry about. He'll draft a lineman or a WR or something.

I don't know what next year's crop of QBs will look like but I'd honestly rather someone else pick the next QB rather than Douglas.

Well they certainly gave Rodgers everything he asked for this season so you could be right. If that is the case Zach may stay. Never know how long Rodgers will last at 41 next season.

What the Jets should do and what Douglas and Saleh are incentivized to do are two different things. Jets should absolutely draft a QB, but Douglas and Saleh are fighting for their lives and going to look to shore up the rest of the offense around Rodgers.

I would be on board with a QB if they had the first or second pick , but no chance now. I’m not taking 80 year old Penix or Nix to sit a year.

Now, they could take a qb in the mid rounds, and just let him sit. Someone like a Michael Pratt or Jordan Travis.

The Jets are going to probably beat at least one of the Commanders and Pats, the defense will do to Howell and Zappe what they did to Stroud yesterday, it will just be a matter if they score enough.

Drafting a day 2 QB is always a good idea. Having a decent QB on a cheap rookie deal can make a big impact on roster building while tanking for a crap shoot top 3 QB like Zach Wilson means being stuck with a large dead cap hit after 3 bad years.

Here is the list of 30 QBs taken in the top 5 since 2000. What's the hit rate? There's some good QBs here but there's only 1 QB on this list that won a super bowl with the team that drafted him and even that comes with an asterisk.
