Confirmed ACL tear for Jones
Kyler tore his ACL on Dec 12/22. And he still hasn't played through 9 weeks. So, if you assume the same timeline for Jones, it would be at least week 5 next season. No pre-season or camp reps, so he's not getting any better.

$47 mill cap charge won't hit the ground running to start.

Feel horrible for DJ. He had such a crap oline for 4 plus years. He never complained. He just took the beatings. Giants will probably draft a QB. DJ will probably be back sometime next season even if it is as a backup. This is why you can't blame these guys for trying to get their money when they can because they have these kinds of injury situations.

Since most isles fans are jets fans I come here to talk to my fellow rivals in hockey about giants football since I break the norm. I doubt jones plays again for the giants. We were spoiled with Eli never missing a game to injury for 15 years and now we have someone who can’t stay healthy, this franchise has many down years ahead unfortunately.

I constantly marveled at Eli’s durability as he was playing and yet, since his retirement, I still somehow might’ve taken it for granted.

People forget that the ability to stay healthy absolutely is a talent.

Hence why Penix scares me so much. I don't think I could pick him.

2 ACL tears on the right knee, on that MetLife turf, is probably a recipe for disaster. But, honestly, I don't think you can expect and hope that QBs last 15 years. No more pure pocket guys. Most of the better QBs today, have mobility. If they lose some of it, will they be as effective in their 30's without it? One of the reasons Russ looks bad is that he seems to have lost that elusiveness he had in his Seattle days. Not able to buy time to make a play. Penix may only give you 2 contracts, his rookie deal plus the 2nd one for $200 mill (if he's great). That may be only 8/9 seasons. Might be the best case. Worst case, another ACL and he's done on his rookie deal....

I think around 1/4 of the QBs were out injured yesterday. Tyrod Taylor only lasted 2 games behind our Oline. Devito was sacked 6 times as well in only 3 quarters.

big game for the Jets tonight. can gain serious ground in the division.
I said last week was the perfect time to nut up and bury the giants early with a statement win. That did not happen but we got lucky and still won. Tonight is another big step towards shedding “same old Jets.” You can’t lose this game when the rest of the division lost.

Apparently OL play has been atrocious League wide. I wonder what the issue is, besides injuries.

I question the validity of your premise. It is true in my family, though as I am the only ranger fan but by blood we are all jet fans.

I found most LI Islander fans were Mets ( Queens) fans and often Jets fans as well. Rangers fans were Giants fans usually.

Basically comes down to padded practices and how few you get during a season. Need live reps to improve the OL play. Don't get that these days. OL coach is pretty much as important as your OC and QB coach.

We've discussed this forever in various threads. I think it was true back when the jets played in queens and to a lesser extent when they practiced in Hofstra. The jets moved 40 years ago. So maybe for the older generations but not so much the newer generations.

That's my $0.02.
