They allowed the most goals in the league, all their goalies had sub-.900 save percentages, so was the defense in front of them bad as well? Are the Flyers looking to upgrade on defense?
They may have allowed the most this year, but last year they were top 10 in a longer season. Obviously something went wrong, or multiple things; but I think it would be a mistake to make panic moves.
I think this season really exposed bad coaches, having to play the same teams over and over again made coaching way more important. As a Flames fan, I saw this with Geoff Ward, he looked okay last year but this year he was arguably the worst coach in the league. I didn't watch Philly much this year, but I have taken notice that a lot of people that think AV is a poor coach for Philly. Maybe AV has simply lost the room? As a Rangers fan, you might have some insight into AV.
But if you combine an unfavorable coaching situation with growing pains for a young starting goalie without a reliable backup for insurance and it is a recipe for disaster.
