What cracks me up is I have to imagine a 2nd probably would’ve been enough to get this done. Nobody else was seriously interested in DeAngelo.
Why wouldn't other teams be interested in DeAngelo? Carolina was interested in him last summer after he missed basically the whole 2021 season, and he just scored 51 points in 64 games.

Teams don't care about character if they think the player will help them win or put fans in the stands. That's why the Oilers jumped on Kane.

You have a great ability to try and find the positive in management decisions.

This being your reaction says a lot.
That's more mythos than reality. I just don't join in the hivemind crying about every single move ever made by the Flyers that wasn't exactly what the hivemind wanted.

So essentially Fletcher did this

In
Rasmus Ristolainen
Tony DeAngelo
7th round pick (Not sure what year)

Out
D Shayne Gostisbehre
D Robert Hagg
2021 1st Round Pick
2022 2nd Round Pick
2023 2nd Round Pick
2024 2nd Round Pick
2023 3rd Round Pick
2022 4th Round Pick
2022 7th Round Pick

Gave TDA $5M AAV which is 500k more I believe than Gostisbehere who they dumped for nothing and added picks too

That is a lot of lost assets for so little in return

All I really cared about was the future rebuild. They could have done whatever bullshit in FA or even stupid picks.

I just wanted the next GM to not be working with half a deck when it came to the inevitable point that this is heading.

Do we remember the story of the wooden horse? Fletcher would be the first to be yelling to open the gates.

DeAngelo could have actually been a pretty shrewd pickup for a team willing to stomach him. Just not for a team that overpays for everyone.
