Im sorry but that bottom 6 is awful and that right side D is putrid. Holl and Mete as the 2 top 4 right D is something else…

And how is Robertson not playing.

How,does Boston year after year ice good teams and we haven’t won a single round in 20 years.
pretty sad for the most valuable team in hockey
I was thinking the other day after to listening to all the media clips with Keefe, Marner, et al, that a good management and marketing firm, with good hockey people on their team, could present a compelling case to the BoD that the Leafs are losing/ wasting a lot of money and potential revenue and prove they could do better.

I expect the crowd will try to keep the Leafs accountable, which I am grateful for in this instance. We know coaching and management sure aren't.

Boo the hell out of them unless they come out flying like the start of Game 1 vs Tampa. Even then, at least some boo-urns are still appropriate.
Imagine if our fans did the exact opposite and gave them a standing ovation before the game (even though it's not deserved), I think that would have a far more positive outcome than booing the hell of them. I realize they may need a wake up call, but I just don't see how adding to the misery gets them out of their funk. Unless of course they get blown out tonight. Then have at it.

MLSE definitely needs more management people.

Last year after a rough start in October 4-5-1 the Leafs went on to have a 12-2-0 November ..

Lets see they compare to last year starting tonight with the 1st game in Nov.
I think they'll have a much better month but hard to replicate that.

They're really going to have to pick away at climbing the standings until Christmas now at a pretty good clip.

Luckily the division seems more balanced so no one other than Bruins has taken off yet... and even that surprises me how they keep doing this.

Goes without saying but more than the last few years... they need to win the games against teams in their own division.

This just pisses me off..... we NEED a tough guy on our team to protect out star players.... I thought Simmonds played pretty decently last game. Idiot coach.

We've had what... one game that got rough... and we had both Simmonds and Clifford in the lineup that game... please let us know what they did that game?

Kerfoot on the 2nd line, Holl on the 1st pair.

At this point, I’m wondering if Keefe is trying to get himself fired on purpose. Maybe there’s some kind of clause in his contract.
He has a clause that says he’ll play who they give him.

If Tavares gets caved against Philly then there’s really not much else they can do.

Team may have played their best game of the season that night.
It’s almost like they had a plan and stuck with it.

Flyers fan here.

We truly have an awful team and nothing in the pipeline that's remotely interesting. Our #2 overall pick who was supposed to save the franchise (Nolan Patrick) was traded and is basically retired.

Our 1C is Kevin Hayes. Our 2C is Scott Laughton.

We are without (1C) Couturier, (1D) Ellis, (2LW) JVR, (1RW) Atkinson.

Our backup goalie has never won an NHL game.

Seriously, the Leafs should be strafing the Flyers for 5-6 goals easily.

And even if the Leafs lose, you have an amazing group of elite-level players. A 4-5-2 record in November won't mean squat come playoff time. And you will be in the playoffs.

Good luck!

Funny to read these back to back. Why do you think you're the only person on this supposedly negative community who has such a weird f***ing problem with Robertson? His two assists have come from winning puck battles in the neutral zone to keep the play alive, so it's silly to say he offers nothing outside of goal scoring. I would have thought you'd tone down your crusade a bit after declaring him a bust from the prospect tournament games but I guess not

Like I said, I want to be proven wrong. Coach seems to agree with me.

That lineup is exactly why I was saying if they can outplay the Tavares line then the Leafs are in a real tough spot.

I love Robertson. He is very good with the puck on his stick, elite shot. He is tracking back on defense quite well, and has a very good IQ for the game, and stealing the puck off of players in the dzone. He's also 12th on the team in creating scoring chances, and 14th in puck retrieval of the forwards. He is getting much closer to being a contributor on this team, but some of his game needs work still. That's ok, he's got an amazing work ethic, and I have no doubt that he will get there. Sometimes you play, sometimes you watch and learn.

Well they just came off an embarrassing loss and I don’t think he played last game either…seems like a good time to put him in considering he is the only good thing to happen to leafs this year

The guy is a sniper. If you go with Malgin as your #4RWer why not try 89 64 62 on the 4th line ?

Keefe on why he won't split up 16 and 34. They have great chemistry. So let's keep shuffling the other 3 lines which have little chemistry. This guy needs to be gone.

Philly played yesterday and lost in OT to the Rangers. If Torts is ticked means his team is ticked so this should be interesting

That is what I am hoping for. I want the Leafs to earn the 2 points, not to be gifted.

I agree with you. I think we have the players to have scoring depth it's just deployment. Kerfoot and Nylander play really well together as we saw in the playoffs, I think we need to split it up a bit.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Jarnkrok - Tavares - Malgin
Robertson - Kerfoot - Nylander
Engvall - Kampf - Holmberg

4th line should be a decent forechecking line.
Best third line in the league. They would feast on teams bottom 6 players
Tavares has thrived with players like Jarnkrok and Malgin seems to work with Tavares as they skate the same speed.
Top line is our top line

Defense is tough. Need to get healthy and need a trade

Robertson doesn't create offensive chances, Kampf doesn't create offensive chances... which leaves Malgin ( who has zero assists) Robertson/Malgin as your energy checking line? I get it, if they are centered by someone offensive...

I don't think that is putting Robertson in the best position to succeed. Again, we are getting overly focused on singular games, that long run are meaningless in Robertson's development and contribution to the team. This focus on micro moments is troublesome.
