Flyers get hosed. Trouba is overvalued

I don't want to pump his tires, cuz honestly I don't even like the guy, but how many 22 year old D play 22 minutes a night against top lines and kill penalties and have his stats? He doesn't put up huge points but he does everything very well.

Provorov on an ELC has more >>> Then a malcontent that whats a big dollar contract he hasn't earned yet .

Pretty sure the contract demand was a Kyle Turris type tactic to force a trade without requesting one...now that hes actually requested I trade...I don't see him signing a deal like he originally requested.

Sorry, I should differentiate. I believe he is overvalued, not overrated. He's a very good player, but he's being marketed as a number 1 defender on these boards, which he is not

The original proposal is absolute garbage but it got me thinking. While it would be a radical change in direction for both teams how far apart is

Povorov Sanheim Simmonds

For

Laine Connor Trouba

Almost as bad as the OP.

His trade request is pretty specific.

Many of us think that's a smokescreen for simply not wanting to be in the smallest market in the NHL, not the least of which because he said the left side is no big deal and it's actually better for some aspects of the game ****ing weeks ago.

Jets fans have also watched Byfuglien drag Clitsome and Chiarot to quite respectable top-4 numbers over the years so we know Trouba would be getting a fair shake on the top pair.

He wants out for other reasons.

How many markets he does want to be in--who knows?

How about this?

MDZ, Sanheim & MacDonald (about $1M retained) for Trouba, Copp & Stuart

Jets can't/won't take on MacDonald.

See below....lol.

Reality though, Philly needs to fix their defense. They won't trade 2 D and get only 1 back.

It is a drastic change in direction but it would be a very workable top 4 in
Mdz trouba
Ghost gudas

With morin myers hagg etc still on the way to add competition and fill the bottom pairing.

I'd have to tape a few 10 foot pools together to give you a real answer.

I still don't know that I'd do it as a philly fan but at least weve gone from way out in space to somewhere in the neighborhood

Philly could use two stud LW...but not at the cost of 2 stuff d men. (All 4 of which are potential as of now).

Given Hall for Larson I'm not convinced the incentive is there but all that potential is awful sexxy. Potential franchis d potential franchise winger potential top pairing d potential first line wing. And then you have a top four d with top pair upside and one of the best power forwards in the game. Fun to think about.

Almost as bad as the OP

This is more give to get. I think value is alot closer though i can't say it suits either teams current construction and future plans.

Hextall doesn't want a workable top 4 D, he wants a great one. Keeping Provy and his upside allows the Flyers to either let MDZ go/trade or re-sign him and push him down the lineup onto the 2nd pair which is where he should be.

MDZ is underrated in these boards....playing on the top pair...but him being thief is not ideal. You don't make trades so you can leave him there. You keep Provy so hopefully you can move MDZ to the 2nd pair where he is more suited. Or trade him if Hextall deems his contract ask is too high.

Plus, with your trade offer, Konecny has no spot in the top 6. He will be too good to be in the bottom 6 for 3/4 years. Also, Ghost has proven he can play the right side. Him being there means his us always set up for 1 timers in the OZ....which is great given his shot.

If Philly DID trade for Trouba, I expect they would make 2/3 other moves as well to push for a deep playoff run. They would need to add a good #3 C IMO and possibly a solid defensive Dman for the bottom pairing unless Morin shows he is ready by seasons end. Read would have to go to get the cap space for that #3 C.

Schenn G Simmonds
Konecny Couts Voracek
Laughton XXXX Weise
Bellemare Gordon Raffl
Cousins

MDZ Ghost
Provy Trouba
Morin Gudas

I think that team could do well. It has size, grit, and speed. Philly adding a good #3 for 2 years is a move I could see if Cousins doesn't prove himself by the deadline.

Lol....I will say, playing against the D would be no fun with the bottom 4 all strong, physical guys. Then let MDZ and Ghost push the offense.
