Kings GM asked for the BPA so next on the list is Ivan Chekhovich from Baie-Comeau. Any objections?
Right on. Should I pick?
With the 73rd pick in the 2017 Fake NHL Draft, La Robuste Brise de Quebec are happy to select, from Rogle of the Socialist Blonde Collective Hockey Association, right wing Lukas Elvenes.
"I love hobbits - you know those wee dudes from those movies?" fake GM Dave Poulin said. "So when I saw this guy Elevenses, I'm like 'Whoa! That's when hobbits eat second breakfast!' And I mean, when you're drafting, right, you have to look for every edge. So we pick this guy, he obviously cares about nutrition - breakfast is the most important meal of the day and don't forget it - but also, if some ****ing team comes at me with a magic ring, there's no way I'm taking that ****ing thing into Mordor, right? So now we have a guy to take care of that. That's what we in the GM game call 'versatility' and it rules."
Jets select, from the U.S. National U18 Team, C/W Evan Barratt.
With the 76th pick in the 2017 NHL draft, Tampa selects from London of the Ontario Hockey League, Alex Formenton.
-------------
Surprised he was not taken. I didn't feel comfortable reaching on him before the late 2nd, although some team might, but the value here is very good to me. Formenton is the youngest player in the draft, has grown like 8 inches the last couple years, has played the glorious role that is stealth London Knight 4th liner/bottom 6er, and is just in general "raw." I don't see nearly the puck skills (not that they're poor) of a Dvorak or Pu, where I expect him to be at that level of potential, but he does have some potential for sure. 3rd round felt right.
His skating is truly among the elite in the draft. In stride he's a sight to behold. Combined with his size -- though the frame needs work (not that you'd know it by how aggressive he plays) -- and consistently relentless but intelligent checking game, he is just flat-out DISRUPTIVE. If in the coming years he shows more offensive skills in a bigger role on London, great. As is, he is lethal off every rush, and shows good o-zone awareness off puck where he can be a good support player there. But I'm convinced he will be a quality NHL player, even if just a bottom 6 one and high end PKer. Reminds me a bit of Anthony Cirelli, but on the wing, who had a similar draft profile and did later find that next level to his game in a bigger role. Cirelli just so happens to be a Lightning prospect too.
I don't have any more picks but fwiw, there were a couple overagers I was going to take before realizing Formenton was there. With all the Flyers 3rds and 4ths, there are some quality overage targets there for the taking.......real life I'm talking. Or fake life. Whatevs.
With the 78th pick in the 2017 Mock Draft, the Nashville Predators select LW Jonah Gadjovich from Owen Sound of the OHL.
I don't know about everyone else (obviously), but I am really enjoying this mock draft and the pace is higher than I anticipated, so I would be happy to see it go the full 7 rounds.

I'm totally willing to go 7 deep (phrasing) as long as you guys are prepared to see me make some daft draft picks
With the 77th pick in the 2017 NHL Fake Draft, the New York Islanders select Rickard Hugg, center/wing, Leksands IF (SHL).
The Isles' front office like Hugg's determination and above average skills, and had targeted him for the third round.
The Islanders' ownership group will immediately commence plans for a "Brooklyn Needs a Hugg" marketing campaign.
With no fourth round selections, that brings the Islanders' fake draft to a close.
1 (15) Erik Brannstrom, D, SHL
2 (46) Robin Salo, D, Liiga
3 (77) Rickard Hugg, C/W, SHL
Not Hugg Life?!
I would expect to see a whole lot of Huggies references in his professional career, especially if he complains about anything.
