Alright ya maniacs, Nashville lost, too. Relax. It happens.
-Nashville has looked like crap the entire series and has been outplayed. Nashville doesnt win Cups. And we arent Nashville.

I think in order for us to go far, teams like Tampa and Boston would have to play at least two more games than us and not the other way around. Simply put I believe both are better than us. And in order to beat such teams we needed to garner an advantage as it pertains to injuries and rest. Losing tonight pretty much kills the opportunity to get that edge.at best, they are done in 5. So at most, it's a 2 game difference if we lose sunday and win in 7. But we haven't lost on Sunday, and they still haven't won game 5.
I don't think anything about that makes sense. We can beat anybody in the league. An extra game played or two for either side does not change that one way or another. I'm not saying it has no effect, but it's minuscule in comparison to the overall quality of the teams.I think in order for us to go far, teams like Tampa and Boston would have to play at least two more games than us and not the other way around. I don't think NSH is as great as everyone seems to think. Also, I think the AVs are a better team than Philly.Alright ya maniacs, Nashville lost, too. Relax. It happens.
Everytime I say this people say no, rest is better. Yeah, sitting on your arse for 7 days and maybe longer is great for the playoffs.I would have rather won, but I think going against either Columbus or Caps with a little more fight in the series may turn out being more positive.
I also don’t think this was bad a loss as people wanna say.

If we're more tired or having to play with nagging injuries, really? I think we'd be up against it if we had an advantage in playing less games. Since that doesn't appear to be likely I think you're gonna be very disappointed.I don't think anything about that makes sense. We can beat anybody in the league. The Avs are absolutely not a better team than Philly. And Nashville is one of the best teams in the league.I don't think NSH is as great as everyone seems to think. Also, I think the AVs are a better team than Philly.
Again, you want to get any advantage you can. And I do think an extra game or two does make a difference. We've played so much hockey. More than anyone else. I can't believe you don't see that as a variable to consider here.Injuries obviously matter. But I'd say the biggest tangible difference you'd see based on games played is simply a higher chance of suffering more injuries. The fatigue difference between playing 100 games vs 102 over the course of a year is all but meaningless.
We might lose to Boston or Tampa. Or Washington or Columbus. Or Philly even. But if we do, the difference will not be one or two games played.

NSH is a good team, but as I said before the playoffs started I think the cup winner comes from the east. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets beat them. The Avs are absolutely not a better team than Philly. And Nashville is one of the best teams in the league.
I don't think Kessel is getting better. Most bone injuries are 6 weeks tops. If he hasn't recovered by now its soft tissue, and it needs surgery after the season.
But here's the thing, we have no guarantee we'll win on sunday. At minimum we're playing six games. I think tonight was very illuminating . I just don't think if we're having this much trouble with Philly, we can beat the best the league has to offer. And we certainly can't IMO if we have to go deep against a team such as philly while they're likely to enjoy some R and R.
Do you really think there's a significant difference between playing 215 games vs 217 games over the course of 3 years?Again, you want to get any advantage you can. I wouldn't be either, but the Jets are really good too.NSH is a good team, but as I said before the playoffs started I think the cup winner comes from the east. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets beat them.
I think it’s a core injury....groin, hernia etc— that will either require significant rest or surgery....
If 2 or 3 extra days of rest was going to fix what's wrong with him, he'd have been given 2 or 3 days of extra rest at some point over the last two months.-Generally speaking I would agree with you 100%. But Phil Kessel looks dead out there. I mean the the guy had his head down gagging for air on the bench. And he completely sucked in every facet of the game. I dont see how anything fixes him other then rest.
The Sens series going to 7 didnt look like we had a team who could finish out winning it all either. Looked like they were too beat up. But still came thru. Each series is different.
We are 1-1 without Hornqvist..so you can look at that situation as in hes getting rest. We started off the series 3-1 instead of being 2-2 having to win this to go up 3-2. Which takes more energy. We could dissect every series the past few years.
Should have closed out the Caps last year. Won in 7. Should have closed out the Sens in 6..won in 7. Should have beat the Sharks in 5...won the next on their ice. Every series has its own story line.
Would have been nice to win in 5...and we should have. But now we will see them at their best on Sunday..and should see a much different result. If we dont..then we can worry a bit.
Win or lose , Im worried about Phil anyways. If hes not gonna be himself something needs to be done if we want to win it all. He was at a ppg along with Crosby and Malkin the last two years. Each year..each series provides new challenges...up to Sully and others to correct mistakes and do what it takes to give us that advantage over others.
We'll see what happens Sunday. I do think we will be all over them 5 on 5. But am a lil worried about Nuevirth and special teams. Might have to win an ugly one. Regardless, we have already put ourselves in a great position going up 3-1. If they lose this series they werent going all the way anyways
both of the potential 2nd round matchups are worse teams than the Caps were last year though. But last year we did get through the first round in five games, so though it wasn't an easy series it nonetheless was only five games. And we got a bit of a rest. As far as this year goes I think the teams are better this season. So on two fronts we're really behind the eight ball here.
We agree on this.Do you really think there's a significant difference between playing 215 games vs 217 games over the course of 3 years?
I wouldn't be either, but the Jets are really good too.
