Philly got so lucky on that last goal. And Crosby scores that goal 10 out of 10 tens. Alot of things had to break right for Philly to barley eek out a win.

The Pens have guaranteed themselves a do or die game. So atleast they have room for error. I don't see Philly winning 3 in a row.

Hornqvist will save the day in game 6 and get us on the board 1st and it will be smooth sailing from there.
The Penguins waited 30 minutes to put on pressure. Fancy-pantsy passing and no shots and a terrible power play not to mention going -1 for 5 on the power play.
It won't happen again Sunday.

@Uemoda
Letang was ok good in the 2016 playoffs.. it was some defenseman that did better than him and plus play way more hungrier than him.. like always..
Hungrier Defensemen that has been on the Penguins make he job easier..

2016 is 2016 .. this is 2018..
Letang almost cost the Penguins two series... Caps and Lightning..he did so other f*** up shit too.. he isn’t a leader too..

Letang has always been the same Letang..consistently inconsistent and does to much...He hurts his team more than helping it..
Dumoulin does his little tiny mistakes here and there. Dumoulin deserves better than Kris Letang..
I will say this like I have always have said Penguins can win and be much better without Kris lEtang..

Some people tried to Keep giving this tiresome narrative about him.. it’s getting old and sad.

Letang has never change his game to be better for himself really the betterment of his team regardless what discussions he had with Penguins organization and despite his injuries.. he was like that before injuries and he’s worsening now..

Letang has good skating , good athleticism and always play reckless careless hockey has made Letang look unbelievable other than that.. all that cover that.. it’s fading away slowly with the concussions that has encountered.. sadly..

he isn’t elite .. imo..
He’s nothing.. He’s racks up points due other hardworking and elite overall game..
Geno and Malkin..He rides Geno and Sid cock-tails..

He’s needs to be great two way offensive defenseman..
he happens to better than that he needs to be smart simple reliable defenseman..

I don’t think it will ever happen..
Letang was good in Game 1 after that he was bad..

Consistently inconsistent..
Penguins needs to trade him this summer..

The inconsistency in play is what worries me...it’s clearly mental...Murray, seems to only play well when he’s lost the game before; Letang, alternates terrible and stupid and solid all within the same game; effort of other players is inconsistent...
Can’t be doing this like in the RS....
Now more injuries...
I still think we pull this series out but those of you planning your ECF strategy against the Bruins/Tampa might want to stop....

He could still shoot after that. Its his lower body.
I'm well aware of the collision in the corner, where Geno "hyperextended his left knee"

I wasn't referring to that point. I'm saying Geno wasn't noticeable after he got released from the box and drew that slash from Ghost....

I was going to mention this in the GET and someone else may have. It seemed like the puck was bouncing around and hard to handle all night. It certainly did not benefit the Pens.
I saw that too. The one powerplay seemed like the puck was rolling on edge for an entire sequence and the Penguins kept cycling it to get it to settle down.
I can't say it happened to the Flyers as much. Just a bad luck game man.

To be fair, Kessel gets a bit more slack than Letang should, imo. Kessel's clearly injured, and has done more for this team in the three seasons he's been here than Letang has in the decade-plus with the Pens. Neither player's play is acceptable, but the factors are important; injured versus stupid.

Well, I’ll start off by saying this: do not blame that game on the defense, OK? I don’t care who you play — whether it’s a high school team, a junior college team, a college team — much less an NHL team. When you turn the puck over five times — four goals, one shorthanded, three others in front of the net — you ain’t going to beat anybody I just talked about. Anybody. All right? And that was a disgraceful performance in my opinion. We threw that game. We gave it away by doing that. We gave them the friggin’ game. In my opinion, that sucked. Ah. You know? You can’t turn the puck over a million times like that. Holy crap! I don’t know who the hell we think we are when we do something like that. Unbelievable. Four goals. One of them for — We’ve stopped playing the puck 55 minutes a night. That might be an NHL record! And we’ve still got two games left, so there’s no telling how many we’ll have. That’s pitiful! I mean, it’s absolutely pitiful to perform like that. Pitiful!

Last thing I'll say on the shorty.

Bad decision or not, Phil's pass didn't result in a breakaway or a 2 on 1. It was a 2 on 2 going back the other way. You thank God every time a mistake, as egregious as that one was, results in nothing more than an even rush towards your end.

Murray's rebound was bad goaltending, but a physical mistake and not a mental one. Its no excuse, but a bobble isn't a bad choice.

Letang however simply chose to ignore his man until it was too late. No boxing out, no standing him, nothing. Watch the replay. He knows Filppula is there, then acts surprised when Filppula doesn't stop skating.

Look, they weren't going to tie it up at the end so I won't "blame" the loss on Letang for the EN goal, but the play he tried to make there is a perfect example of what I've been saying for the last couple of years. He's lost some of his athletic ability and refuses to adjust his game, thinking he can easily skate through or around people. He's always been stupid, but now he can't make up for it with his physical gifts.

And he's only going to get worse.

How legit is Kessel's game streak? The dude plays the softest game in the league, by far.
Even in the playoffs, when people are sacrificing their bodies, Kessel avoids contact at all costs.

Resting him prior to season end was more important than his streak*.

Letang needs to be gone in the offseason. He is not close to being worth how much he costs.
Absolutely. I hope so. I have been wanting for this for years..
Regardless the outcome in the playoffs it needs to happen..
Ray Shero sign him a contract over one good season he seen from Letang.. it was gargantuan contract and gargantuan mistake..
