The have been putting together some serious line combinations early this year in camp and made this group split between NHLers and AHLers early which was a bit atypical... now it's all upside down, fun and tryout mode again
Those are quite literally the worst D pairings imaginable.
Yea I am actually truely impressed that Hak was able to form those horrible lines with who he has to pair with
Sanheim and Simmonds being listed for group one but not skating isn't encouraging. Hopefully Sanheim at least will take the ice with group two.
Also this is going to make people here jump off a bridge, but Sanheim is with the AHL group and Brennan is with the NHL group
First we're jumping to conclusion after preseason games and now we're acting like training camp lines mean anything.
This board man...
I dunno man, I thought that training camp lines were written in stone.
I mean why would a coach waste his time looking at different line combinations and defensive pairings, because as we know injuries never happen and you don't have to worry about making adjustments and moving players around week to week.
Just go to this board, follow the consensus, and send in your lineup card.
It was crap then and it's crap today, because there is a 0.00% chance Giroux plays Wing instead of Center in the 2017-2018 campaign.
It is preseason. They are going to look at a lot of things. They have a lot of centers that need ice time and eval. G's future may eventually be on wing. I'd be surprised if it was this early, but even then, not jaw-droppingly surprised.
giroux on coots wing could work. They compliment each other pretty well.
Meltzer tweeted Sanheim didn't skate today.
The way Sanheim has played anyone would beat him into group 1.Charlie just tweeted Hak said Sanheim did skate with 2nd group and the move of Brennan up was because he has had a strong camp.
FWIW
No kidding. And one thing they're looking at is Giroux at wing. Already.
I'm not saying he's going to spend a ton of time at wing this season; I'm saying it shows they already are batting around the idea sooner than I anticipated. My point is Norm took a lot of undeserved heat in his thread for even broaching the idea, and it's a lot closer to happening than you'd have thought given the majority reaction.
