Florida Panthers completely changing jersey (logo leaked post 661)

I don't think an Islanders fan should be calling out the Devils on this topic.

You must have forgot the Captain Highliner jerseys you guys had in the 90's.

Don't forget those awful bright Orange jerseys too.

Oh, how about the ugly and I mean UGLY NY Winter classic jerseys you guys had.

Oh, how about the jerseys from 2-3 years ago with the grey shoulders and the word Islanders in the middle.

Lets not forget the Black alternates you have now with the white NY in the middle. Wow a lot of thought went into that one.

What? The Hawks and Wings have 'busy' designs and they sell a ton of jerseys every year. That's fine if you don't like the logo. Some people like them and some people don't. It's not like there's scientific evidence to support what's good and what's bad. It's all subjective content in the end.

The difference is the detail on the Hawks and Wings logos gives them just enough depth and detail to work. I don't think there is anything really "extra" in either design that the logo would benefit from losing.

The Panthers logo could do without the entire body, honestly. Just superfluous in my opinion.

Not really sure why the Devils came up (especially not by an Isles fan), but despite having the most tired, overused, boring color scheme imaginable (though obviously one that makes sense for a team called the Devils), their jerseys are ****ing gorgeous. Clean, crisp, and effective. I'll always prefer the red & green to the red & black because of said hated of the red & black color scheme...but they nailed the design right out of the gate and have been wise not to mess with something that doesn't need any tweaking.

Yeah I was looking at a write up on the worst jerseys in nhl history, quite a few of them came from the Isles.

I would have preferred a jersey redesign rather than a new logo, that leaping Panther was one of the first introductions to the NHL during a trip to Florida...always thought it looked awesome

To each his own, but many people have the Devils unis as one of the best.

I like the Devils but I kinda miss the greenish-red-white of the early era, really stood out in a nice way.

Isles classic is nice, a lot of their alternates are...different.

You have to understand that with the vote passing their future is now certain to be in Florida and ownership wants to do something to change it up, make the team "theirs". While many fans like the current look it is associated with losing and mediocrity. Kind of like the Devil Rays.


And if this bombs they go back to the old ones. Like New Coke.

With all due respect to the Florida Panthers -- and this comes from a lifelong Panthers fan -- I genuinely don't think people care enough about the Panthers to associate the current logo with anything except hockey in South Florida. The only noteworthy thing to ever happen to this team happened in 1996, and that is what everyone hearkens back to when discussing Panthers history. And that happened with the current logo. If the Panthers can finally manage to put a good product on the ice, the period from 2000 to 2015 will be forgotten history.

They're ripping off this logo. It's still a Panther. My guess is they'll put just the head into a frame like this eagle, with Florida overtop.
