He was playing ok, having horrible luck with his shots. He is what he is, you ride out the streaks and take the possession and go on with it.

Possession numbers good, sh% in the toilet. For a guy like him, probably bad luck more than anything.

One thing people seemingly ignore about Oleksiak is that others follow him into battle. He is a leader of men. That is of great value to a hockey club.

Olalkin should have been drafted #1 in 2004.

so who fits that bill --on this roster-- in your philosophy? Ward? Brouwer? Laich?

I think Brouwer does, if/when Laich comes back. Fehr's remarkable emergence puts him squarely on the top 6. So that leaves us with 8-9-16-19-20-21 as our true top 6 when everyone is healthy. Its what we do with those 6

Brouwer seems to suffocate Backstrom a bit and while he likes to hog the puck since Ovechkin is so adamant about setting up his off wing I'd rather have him there than Chimera or Laich. He also carries the additional benefit of compensating for Ribeiro's atrocious faceoff abilities. Brouwer-Ribeiro-Ovechkin (Or Ovechkin-Ribeiro-Brouwer) and ??? - Backstrom-Fehr is what I'd go with ??? being Laich/Johansson/acquisition. Right now just stick Ward there.

I'm with you there 100%, I think he was a shrewd signing and I think there was a lot of transition happening that coincided with Wolski's streak of bad luck. I've really liked him with Backstrom and Fehr the last two games, healthy Fehr looks like first round Fehr.
