I know they’re stocked with D but I would have preferred Virgilio over Clattenburg. I’m ok with it but would have liked a little more on the picks side. If I was McParlan I would have really pushed to swap Saginaw’s 2nd in 2024 that Flint owns for…..I think it’s Flint’s 2nd in 2024 that the Soo owns. Not a huge difference but it would be nice to move that pick up 15 spots or whatever.
You probably wouldn't get any picks with Virgilio. Remember that he was a top 5 talent going into the draft last year and fell because of commitment concerns. People smarter than me still expect him to be an OHL star and high NHL draft pick.

I think you'll absolutely love Kostov. He's already one of the league's top penalty killers and has a lot of room for growth in terms of scoring. The physical tools are great.

Top 5 D you mean?

Multiple sites had him ahead of Dickinson as the top D at that point. Obviously that was misguided, but the reasons for putting him that high still exist. Other sites had him 2 or 3 for defense from what I recall.

Dickinson, Mews, Danford were consensus top 3. I think most had Parekh higher too

I probably wouldn’t use those sites for reference anymore.
Every fan thinks they are smarter in hindsight, but I appreciate the few places that actually make an effort to provide OHL draft content, so I won't criticize them.

They talk to scouts and watch minor midget players, which most of us get little chance to do.

I was just giving you a hard time. Every scout at every level completely blows it occasionally. Virgilio over Dickinson would be a pretty good example though. 😆

hes not a high draft pick at all, flint passed on him when he was offered. hes rated as a 6th or 7th pick for the nhl draft.

Thanks OHL4Life! Keep the news coming today! Appreciate ya!

I don't get this either unless there is something going on to shuffle OAs around to get someone to where they want to go.

Yeah I don't get this one. I've been pretty happy with the deals so far but this is the first headscratcher. Maybe so we avoid losing 10-2 every game lol?

Could be part of another deal?
