In the win now mentality, I think I'd rather keep Deline. I think both play slightly different roles on the team tho.Who do you guys think will be traded... Deline or Terry? I know Deline is better for us but he also has more trade value.
Also... does ANYONE know what is up with Kressler?
It’s Deline. Hands down. If I’m not mistaken, after the Panwar trade there are two teams with OA spots open and one of them is Ottawa who is already loaded with D. So that leaves only one potential trade partner. I don’t think there’s any return for Terry unfortunately and Deline is more valuable than his return would be. Keep Terry around as long as possible in case of an OA injury and as a locker room leader. In the win now mentality, I think I'd rather keep Deline. Either way, I don't know if either fetch a ton via trade, and I think at the deadline they will be in the market to add another D-Man.
As far as Kressler goes it was mentioned during one of the OHL broadcasts that he’s in Toronto with the Leafs. He hasn’t played though. So you can basically assume he’s dealing with some type of injury and the Leafs are monitoring him.Who do you guys think will be traded... Deline or Terry? It's game 3, but interesting to go with Day on the road vs one of the favorites in the West.
Klinkhammer and Aspinal making debuts as well.
Man, totally over looked that Terry was in the lineup, but it makes sense.Starting Day and dressing Piroski as the backup Let's Dent play both Terry and Deline tonight. Showcasing maybe?
Was he saying Matt or Nat. I thought Matt at first but his partner kept saying Nathaniel. Can't imagine he didn't hear what his broadcast partner was calling him.Matt Day ( ) played pretty well in net tonight. Good night for Piercey/Lombardi/Othmann.
Sure sounded like Matt to me.Was he saying Matt or Nat. I thought Matt at first but his partner kept saying Nathaniel. Can't imagine he didn't hear what his broadcast partner was calling him.
DeleteStill not great but they’re starting to come around. Each game they’ve been a little better. Slavicek has really impressed with his two way play. Othmann has been even more impressive than I expected. He’s gonna destroy this league this year. I thought Day looked decent. As I said, I think he’s gonna make an argument to be the starter. I could see him pulling that off but I can also see Cranley solidifying his role as starter. Looking forward to tomorrow and seeing Sudbury for the first time in awhile.
They didn’t look good. Cranley was mediocre at best again. The refing wasn’t fabulous but it wasn’t egregiously in Sudbury’s favor either. Ranger (the OA goalie I wanted if they were going with an OA and only cost the Wolves a 4th) looked good. Calm. In position. Made some nice saves. It’s a bit like early last year where things just weren’t 100% clicking yet and they struggled to actually finish their chances. I’ll say this even though it’s WAY early. 0-2 at home. 0-2 vs the East. 0-2 without Deline in the lineup. 1-2 with Cranley in net. 1-0 with Day in net. 2-0 on the road. 2-0 vs the West. 2-0 with Deline in the lineup. Really only Othmann has been impressive on a nightly basis so far. I really think a return of Kressler would be huge and I’m still not sold they shouldn’t still be goalie shopping.I missed the game, I was cooking some fish my son caught last night.
Looking at the box score we sucked, the refs called too many penalties on us, was the team sleep walking? 30-15 in shots through 2 periods?
Yup it was a weak showing all around. I know we've only seen Day in 1 game and Day still has a lot of developing to do but in his one game he pretty much put on a clinic on rebound control. Cranley is coughing up fat juicy rebounds way too frequently. Sudbury could have easily netted several more off all the opportunities Cranley left out in front of him.I missed the game, I was cooking some fish my son caught last night.

…and the other 3 were wrist shots from a bit of distance that he had clear views of that just beat him.Yup it was a weak showing all around.
