It’s late. I’ll post again tomorrow but it’s no secret I’ve questioned Cranley since the beginning. Not tonight. That was a stellar performance. Solid positioning, confident, good rebound control, athletic saves. Some luck too but that’s part of the game and you create your own luck sometimes. Consistency is the key though. Way to follow up being pulled and turn it around. He was good tonight. Star of the game. Let’s hope it’s the beginning of a new trend.

Easily Cranleys best game of the season, deserved the shut out.

Still think the power play looks like absolute garbage.

Man, definitely thought he had a couple better than that one.

His save on Voit after the giveaway was FAR better haha. He was phenomenal. Look forward to the rematch Friday. Feels like a mini rivalry might be starting. Should be fun.

Glad everyone paid to see the Cairns show tonight.
Was such a great game until he stepped in. So annoying. Let the teams battle it out. Completely killed the pace in the 3rd.

Congrats on the W. Was a heck of a game. Teams definitely don't like each other. Gonna make for some great hockey.

That's big!

Not sure how they got that first goal, the replays they showed it definitely was not over the line.
Didn’t see it last night, tuned in a couple minutes late and just watched the replay. Wow. That first Sarnia goal didn’t even look close to being over the line. Not sure how that could have even been an optical illusion from that angle. Great game by Deline last night. He should be in the lineup every night. I remember someone who is never right about anything saying he’d never be an OHL level defenseman. Sure has been nice to see the board not have a bunch of ridiculously incorrect and baseless comments like that lately.

None of the angles shown in the stream were all that great for seeing exactly where the puck was on the line. It didn't look like it crossed on those or even to the referee. Only way to be sure is see the shot from the goal line camera. Not sure why they can't show that one. Has to be definitive and obvious to overturn the call on the ice. If you show me video the it's obvious and definitive that the puck did edge over the line I'm fine with that. Show the video. Not allowing the video to be show just makes the fans distrust the officials. Also kind of weird to have Monette as one of the referees and he literally never took his whistle out for the entire game.

Just more clear evidence that the OHL hates Flint and Rolf, just giving other teams goals when the footage clearly showed it never crossed the line.

I sit immediately behind that net, a few rows up, and it was no-goal to me. Couldn’t believe it was called good.
Monette didn’t have a chance to use his whistle; Cairns’s never shut up. He was an idiot (but at least showed no favor to either team.
Good win for you guys. Sarnia just still being Sarnia.

Cairns, Monette, Hutchinson are all terrible. There’s another one I’m missing I don’t like either. There’s a reason they’re still in the OHL and haven’t moved up. Sarnia is fine, it’s early. They’re the only team in the Western Division I haven’t developed a strong dislike for one of their teams yet and there’s been a couple years I really liked their roster. Noah Bushnell, Josh Jacobs, Konecny, Lajuenesse, McGregor, Rymsha, MacDonnell, Dillingham….there’s been a lot of Sting players I’ve dug. Hell, I even rooted for Kelton after he turned his game around. I think they’re fine this year and I hope they’re the team fighting for the Division and Conference with Flint if they can keep improving. They’ve got some picks to work with too. I thought they were one of the best rosters in the West going into this year and I think I picked them 4th behind Flint, OS and Kitchener. I fell for all the propaganda from everybody that Guelph and Kitchener would be good despite me not seeing it as much. Couldn’t figure out why everyone thought two 17yo Storm D would lead them to the promise land. With Constantini and Mesar though, I think Kitchener gets going. I know the Sting history and it ain’t easy in the O, so I know it could repeat but there’s plenty of reason to have faith in that squad and I think there’s gonna be a lot of great, intense games between them and the Birds this year.

Jackson is the other one for me. I would put those 4 as the worst, but Cairns is easily #1.

Not their first rodeo!

I just wish they had to share the view that gave them a goal, or an explanation.

Day was more than capable tonight in relief. I don't think Cranley should get another back to back for awhile.

Thought Flint was much better 5 on 5, too bad there was only about 10 minutes of that action tonight.

Power play is also a dumpster fire, that blind drop to no one, is getting real old, real quick.

I’ve been the biggest Cranley detractor since the day of the trade but I’m not faulting him last night at all. The fifth and final goal he could have had but even that was almost a breakaway goal and the rest were either on the team or just incredible snipes. It was good to see Day come in and play strong though. It was a strong week for Cranley and I’m giving him the reigns to prove one way or another right now. I put a lot of that one on Dent. The drop pass breakout has to go. They’ve been turning it over or creating very risky situations with that all year. Gee and Jenken got burned early and he kept them out there and they got burned again.

Two more, Ryan Elbers and Darcy Burchell
I don’t think we see Elbers too much in Flint. Burchell? We’re familiar with him though. 🙄

If Bertucci is out long term, I think they need to add a vet damn, playing Gee and Jenken isnt a long term solution.

I thought Cranley was a bit Shakey from the get go. Even the saves he made he gave up some juicy rebounds.

I think both will develop into solid OHL caliber defensemen and with the team losing both Deline and Kuzmin next year, they’re gonna need to be bringing a couple defensemen along. I just don’t think they’re ready 10 games into their OHL careers to be paired together against the team that’s 1st in the Conference right now. They never should have carded Terry and kept MacLean around or another young D. You know injuries are gonna happen. Is Belarus gonna be allowed to play Internationally this year? That would be Kuzmin gone for like 8 games too. Everybody knows this team needs an imposing, veteran presence on the blueline but who’s out there? Mailloux is at the top of my list but if London moves him, it won’t be until the deadline. That’s likely the situation with most guys right now. They’re gonna be held until the deadline if they weren’t moved early.
