Looks like it’s gonna be 11F and 7D. Can we get Assinewai and Aspinall in just a little bit more? Is Assinewai hurt? I’ve had multiple people ask me about what’s up with him and I’ve been wondering the same. If he’s not hurt, find him a place to play. He’s clearly an OHL capable forward. With the weather and the trading of Othmann and Petrovski, I don’t expect a full house tonight.
Huh. It’s been a couple games but he was at the arena. A friend pointed out that he was walking by us and told me to ask him what was up but I didn’t. It was a couple coaches that pointed out some stuff in his game they liked when they saw him last year and for the most part he’s been good when he’s been in the lineup.
Maybe he is back up with Flint now. Not sure. I thought he looked good too in the games I saw him play against the Soo.
Flint moved the expendable dman already. I think they are comfortable with the top 6, would be now buying with draft picks.

I see Guryev continues to be up to the same tactics and hurts the team. London scores twice on his Match penalty. What a brutal trade. Back on the suspension list. This guy is a complete meathead.

Guryev has to contain his rage a bit. He goes for the hit sometimes instead of covering his man.

That’s always been the issue with him. I like it….IF……IF…..he can just contain it and pick his spots a little better. If the fighting major sticks, that’s his 3rd already. Not to mention he’s got a name and suspensions already. Now………..once again. IF….IF….he pulls it together? Who wants to run into a team that has Piercey AND Guryev in the playoffs? Hay, Giroux, Hayes, Coulson etc. We’ll see how post season goes for the Birds but I can assure you. Nobody wants to have to go through them in the playoffs and they’re not even done adding yet.

Excited to see what they add later. Sans yesterday, they seem to be on an upward trend. Let’s hope Wednesday gets them back on track, similar to the first meeting in Saginaw if possible!

Who says is suspended? Nothing listed on the OHL site yet! Bad part is he has a target on his back for the refs and opposing teams go after him to get him off the ice, then they cover and hide because they dont want to face him
That pretty much sums it up but I’d wait another few hours, maybe even 24 before being 100% certain he’s not gonna face suspension. I don’t think he will but ya never know with this league. That would be the 3rd time this year a Flint player was given a 5 and a game and after further review no suspension was handed out. The calls on the Guryev sequence of events on Saturday were total BS across the board. I don’t know how Dent stays so calm in situations like that. I was with like 7 players/ex-players and two guys who Ref and we all were astounded at how the penalties were handed out.

For any interested, James Petrovski has 2 points in 3 games with the Attack.
Not bad, considering he played twice last weekend without a minute of practice with his new team mates .
He wears #28 .

Thank you Nathaniel Day. They’re still just skimming by every game. They’re always close but it just doesn’t feel like they’ve had that killer instinct this year. It was like that early last year though, when I was questioning their playoff chances. Hopefully they can repeat that. So far though it’s been a pretty frustrating season. It’s mostly been a lot of missed chances the last two games. Finish boys, you’re better than that. Tomorrow night at home where they haven’t been good vs a VERY good Sting team that is missing quite a bit right now. They really need to take advantage of that because every Sarnia game will be a battle this year.
Uhm…so I saw an interview with Owen Pitters. It was Pitters I was seeing around the arena I thought was Assinewai. Even with Othmann gone, there’s not a lot of ice time to go around but I’d still like to see Assinewai with the club and getting some ice time. I can think of at least one kid he could slot in above once in awhile.
