Not sure if the draft pick database is up to date, but the Pete's don't have a ton of picks.

The Petes moved 2-2nds prior to the ‘22 draft for a 2nd & 3rd each that is not shown on the not yet updated pick database. There are also a couple of picks for conditions likely not met in the Merkley trade that belong to the Petes.

there may have been a roit in the room if this didnt happen. hes been an issue since half way through last year, coach let him do it and gave him the c.

I just don't get the timing. You liked him enough to make him your captain after having him for 2 years but now it's so bad that you can't even wait 1 more month so you get a 2006 born player for him? And it's really only 2 more weeks because then he's gone at WJ camp and then the WJ's until the Jan deadline. So they couldn't keep him 2 more weeks?

Really curious to see which version of the Firebirds show up this weekend. The Gens won’t be a pushover and Missy should straight up be a difficult test. They need to win games like tonight. Niagara has 3 wins this year. Two of them against Flint. That can’t happen with this team this year. The ‘Birds gotta show up for cross-Conference games too, not just vs. West opponents.

I posted Friday night they were trading him to an east team. 24 hours later that happened. I posted about flint picking up cranley the day before it happened. if you think I’m making things up it’s amazing how lucky I get. I even had the amount of picks involved

He posted yesterday that this was going to happen. He tipped it off before anyone else mentioned it, he clearly knows what he is talking about.

Now Othmann isnt McTavish, but if there weren't issues I think the return would be much closer to the Xhekaj return.

im the one that reported the trade yesterday, when I reported it I said the reason why. the trade turned out to be true, i think it’s fair to also project tte reason why is true.

the info I was told was both sides wanted it, flint wanted it more due to attitude. the kid just shot a puck in another teams bench, he’s been throwing tantrums on and off ice all year. come on, the attitude has been on display for 12 months.

let me ask you, why on earth would flint trade a 50 goal scorer in a year they want to go for it if it wasn’t getting that bad?

flint called around to the teams thursday, this was the best they could get because they wanted and needed it done now for everyone’s sake. I don’t know a ton of teams where that interested given the noise around the situation.

Have to assume Van Volsen becomes a Firebird in the offseason and we pretend like it was a stand alone trade because 2 part trades arent allowed in the OHL

I wish. I mean, if it was 1996 NHL, I’d be a bigger fan of the deal and fans will love Guryev here very quickly…..until that kid he just smoked doesn’t get up and he’s suspended for 15 games. It’s 2022 OHL and he’s already got a target on his back. All in all it won’t matter unless they move Cranley or he has some miraculous turn around where all of a sudden he can actually stop wrist shots from the top of the circles. Somebody go check the schedule and please tell me we play in Peterborough while the WJC is going on.

To have a return that poor for a player of Othmann's caliber & him not be hurt or underperforming says all u need to know.

Even if Van Volsen is added later he should've fetched three 2nds, multiple 3rds.

I've yet to see @OHL4Life get something wrong this year. Obviously sucks I'm sure, especially as a FLT fan he was a terrific player, but clearly he has things he needs to work on off the ice.
