Heading up to Flint in November for the first time. We’ve never been so I am looking for places to stay, things to do, and where to eat. Any help is appreciated as we are excited to make the trip.
All depends on your preference.
Like Firebirdsfan said, the Hill road area near US 23 and Redwood Lodge is solid area to stay.
If you are looking for a true Flint experience. I'd recommend the Hilton Garden Inn, right in Downtown Flint. If you are coming in on Friday before the Saturday night game, its walking distance to the Flint Farmers market if you wanted to wonder around there Saturday during the day.
Downtown Flint has some great eats.
Soggy Bottom Bar awesome food and cocktails. Best burgers in Flint, don't let anyone here tell you different.
Churchills has great food, and a outstanding selection of bourbons and whiskeys. It's right next store to the hotel.
Sauce is a higher end Italian restaurant located inside the Hilton Garden Inn.
Blackstones has some very solid BBQ.
Cork on Saginaw is a wine bar, with higher end food.
XOLO is a taco house basically, great margaritas and tequila selection.
Flint Farmers market has a bar upstairs as well, with Michigan Spirits, Beer, and Wine, called Market Tap.
