Well after 7 tough games, sometimes you tip your cap to your opponent.
Emotions were certainly all throughout this series, and both teams showed it. Good luck to the Firebirds in round 2 against the Soo.

Man. Just been so busy that I haven’t had much time to comment. Great game 7 win. That will definetly pay dividends down the road. Unfortunately that series took a lot out of both teams snd they are dinged up for sure. Everybody knows I’m an Attack fan. Wore my Owen Sound Platers hoodie to game 7 as an insurance policy 
. You gotta give it up to OS though. Flint will not face another team in the West that gets sticks and pucks in lanes and clogs the blueline the way they do. They get the most out of that roster and it was a pretty clean, respectfull hard fought series. Like, who do you hate from the Attack right now? I promise you we will all HATE a Greyhound or 5 in a weeks time and they will hate some Firebirds. Kressler looks to be firing on all cylinders now and that’s great. Petrovski must have played 25 minutes in game 7. Seriously? Game 7? A 16yo D? That’s huge. Cavallin looked really good after a shaky start. There’s no hope without him playing like a stud. He is the anchor here. Gotta give it up to Tag too. His ability to maintain possession, slow the play down and provide chances or just a solid breakout or zone entry was huge. Too much to mention right now. My unsung hero for game 7 was Gavin Hayes. He continued to fight after that hook and if he doesn’t get that soft shot off from his knees who knows how that changes the game? That was huge. Central Scouting list is out. I’ll link it tomorrow if no one else does. Didn’t see the U18 draft yet, so nothing to say yet. SEE YOU FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!

Gonna be a tough series. OS in round 1, the Soo in round 2. This is why I was so pissed off when they stumbled down the stretch with a couple inexcusable losses to give up the Conference lead. One. They would have had two guaranteed banners to hang and at this point their opponents would have been Sarnia and Kitchener. Remember how they did against them this season?

Oh I enjoy his enthusiasm same as Reed in Hamilton. They make it fun. Maybe homers but who cares when they have an edge to their broadcasts .
Yeah, pretty disappointed in it. Figured Sunday would be the light one. But traffic heading north was a bit heavy today, everyone already starting to go up north.
I mean, pretty much the whole league is down. $ is tight for people, finally some decent weather, the new Dr Strange movie came out tonight for the nerds but it’s really dissapointing and inexcusable. My bigger concern is the health/freshness of the boys. That was a lights out performance by Luke, they stayed out of the box, no Tynan and still it was a nail-biter. Missing their #1 D hurts. Having Slavicek might help too but you can’t complain about Petrou and he might be a bit better suited for playoff hockey at this point anyway. Pretty quiet game as far as hits and the chippy stuff goes which helps Flint get back to form. That will not last though.

Stop making excuses. 2,400+ for a game 7 had to be the smallest crowd ever for a game 7 in Flint and 1800+ for a Friday night? YOU KNOW THE REAL REASON WHY PEOPLE ARE STAYING AWAY FROM THE DORT. Was in Toledo tonight. Talk about an electric atmosphere for a hockey game, just another sellout crowd of 8.000+ standing room only. If Toledo can draw 8,000+ Flint should be able to get 4,000+ for the exciting brand of hockey that the Firebirds are playing.
Walleye win first game of Central Division Finals, defeat Nailers 5-1
Brandon Hawkins would open the scoring for the fish en route to a 5-1 victory over the Nailers in the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
One issue I see with Game 1 attendance is that the fans only had 48 hours to plan it. That being said, it did feel rather empty, but the crowd that was there was loud and into it.
Surprised the Soo didn’t come out more physical. Playing a physical game on a weeks rest against a team that just finished a game 7 seems logical, yet it didn’t happen.
Flint made the Soo D look great, and the Soo made the Flint D look nearly non-existent. Biggest factor tonight was the goaltending. Cavalin played spectacular and I bet the Soo was missing Tynan on goals two, three and four.

That's a great point. Didn't think about that, the die hards knew when game 1 could possibly be, but I'm sure the average fan didn't wake up until Thursday to figure it out and I'm sure people were making plans before the game time was announced.

The Sunday game was a great win. The shots against were bad again and the attendance was pathetic. However, we will take the win.
