Time to start shopping Trouba. He gave away the puck the first two times he touched it in the first period and then several times after that. He might be the worst D we have.
Agreed. Miller-Schneider might already be better than Miller-Trouba and Trouba is sooo bad on the power play. He just completely kills pp2 as the point man.

Can’t enter the zone or even dump it in well so that unit can rarely establish possession with him on the ice. If they ever do, whenever the puck goes to him, the play dies, as he holds the puck too long. Then he either can’t distribute it or takes a long winding, terrible shot that ends up turning the puck over with the play going the other way and he’s too slow (both skating and in his decision making) to recover. If as the captain, he needs to play on the pp, just put him on the left circle and have Jones or Miller become the point man

Agree with this post though that they should just shop him at the end of the year and get him to waive. Trading his 8m contract solves all the cap problems and can find a 3rd pairing rhd to replace him pretty easily (eg. Justin Braun)

The Flyers are sooooo bad. the Rangers dog walked them all night as usual and they barely showed a backbone aside from Konecny, who is just a wannabe Marchand who can’t play.

I’m not sure that Torts can even salvage that team. Their defense is so bad and they are stuck with all of them on big contracts forever. People think Trouba is bad (he has been to start the year) but he’d be their best defenseman by a country mile. Sanheim must see Zibanejad is his nightmares too after all these years. What a fun team to beat

Very much deserved two points, good for CK for ending it in OT.

Carter Hart, and the Flyers post were excellent.

Igor huge at the end of regulation.

15-5 High Danger 5 on 5, 3-1.09 XG 5 on 5.

Rangers are good, get on board, and lets see where this ship can take us.

What are you talking about? Outside of the last 2 minutes in regulation Igor didn't have to stand on his head. This is like opposite world.
That's all that mattered. There were 4 or 5 grade A chances late in the game that Igor stopped. Had he not, the game would've been over and we wouldn't have gotten any points. While Igor faced few shots, he had to make some really tough stops and he did his job really well when it mattered, especially since there were numerous long stretches where he didn't face any action at all; heck there were long stretches the puck wasn't on his side of the red line.

I don't disagree with any of that but from the tone of your post you make it sound like he needed to stand on his head all day because the team in front of him sucked.

The over reaction of "This is a horrible game" because of missed chances... The second period was pretty damn entertaining. Frustrating to not score? Sure. But they played really well. They played well in the first period but Flyers slowed it down because they couldn't compete with the pressure we were putting on. They tried to slow the game and create faceoffs.

"Do not put Kreider out in OT". I think you have something on your face.

At this point Hajek is better. I love Trouba's physicality but he is not a top 6 on this team.

The Flyers are a bad team analytically but are still finding ways to win, so I was expecting the game we saw. The Rangers dominated but the Flyers hung around and waited for a lucky bounce. It didn’t work for them this time. They are going to crash hard at some point this season.

I was expecting a last minute goal on a breakdown. Almost happened but Igor came up big twice. It's very rare that the Rangers win a game like this it seems. You're playing professionals you don't capitalize on your chances usually it bites you. Thank God it doesn't matter that the Flyers will get a point, in fact it'll just hurt them in the Bedard sweepstakes. We played some BAD teams so far and the Flyers were probably the worst with Anaheim being their only competition.

We’ve been conditioned over the years to expect this team to find ways to lose. Tonight, we actually managed to get the hockey gods to side with us.

This Flyers team is just bad, though. I know that Torts style hockey will keep things tight, but I wouldn’t be surprised by a 10+ game losing streak this year.
