I don't get opinion of Krebs...I don't think that guy has shown anything worthwhile in his career so far.

Rumours around Calgary that this is a guy they've dug in on and the response from Buffalo was 'not no, but not right now' in hopes that he finds his game.
Calgary is still licking its wounds in terms of 'I want to play here' players. Over the past 3 years we've had multiple players flat out leave, or we shipped them out because of their unwillingness to sign. Conroy and co. are still trying to build a culture. Krebs being from Okotoks would be someone who'd definitely fit in the 'I want to be here' slot.

Looking to add an age appropriate centre =/= turned around.
In fact Conroy in his last interview mentioned that while the hot start is great and this is a great way to start the season that they haven't changed their direction for continuing the rebuild.

What Calgary would be ready to pay for Kirby Dach?
Montreal isn’t the right team for Calgary to be dealing with in trades currently. Calgary would rather give up an older more talented/proven player in their quest for a young centre, and I doubt Montreal wants to add age and skill at this point as they’re definitely still no where close to a playoff team yet. Like I doubt Montreal would want any of Coleman+ for Dach or Kadri for Dach+, and he’s not the calibre of guy you’d want to be the main piece in an Andersson trade. Calgary won’t be giving up youth to get older youth with unrealized potential.

This has nothing to do with the Flames start and far more to do with losing Schwindt on waivers
What? It has absolutely nothing to do with Schwindt. It has everything to do with having few good top-6 center prospects, none of whom are right handed.

Where was it ever reported that the center prospect had to be top 6? This is simply about lack of young centers in the organization at all. This was a need before Calgary's hot start, and only got emphasizes more when Schwindt was claimed then Rooney got hurt.

Aiming to replace Lindholm with a 23-25 year old. Don't think they are sweating Scwindt

Less than Montreal paid I'd guess

the whole rumor is "age appropriate middle 6 RHC", if they're currently middle 6 and ager appropriate they'd have top-6 potential. this has been rumored since Conroy took over as GM, this is hardly new. It only "got emphasis" because that moron Seravalli started running his yap, which should be your first clue not to listen

Point missed again. Calgary's search for a center started long before the season started. The Flames have 2 legitimate centers and both are 34+. Calgary's hot start is mostly irrelevant to this search for young centers. I was saying the loss of Schwint is more relevant than the start not that it is a primary reason.

Schwindt was never going to make the team, he's about as relevant to this search as a hollywood actor/actress is to your love life.

I think their only option is Couturier.

If not Couturier, I'd say Cozens but his price is steeper. Although, I think Cozens would be an excellent fit in Calgary. Problem is Buffalo can't get it together.

Obviously lol
But one 1st, as a base?
If Montreal is willing to let him go for the jersey 1st as a base I think they would do it

Yup, completely different assets and him getting claimed doesn’t really matter
