Edmonton has passed them. I don't have a lot of confidence in Colorado due to their absolutely horrific goaltending.

Right now, Calgary is really strong at home (.750 winning percentage), and really shitty on the road (.385).

I expect them to eventually fall into .500 territory, as long as they stay there that'll keep them out of top & around 12/13.

If they decide to sell because they don't want to give us that high of a pick, I would go all in on Andersson. And, if they fall to bottom of standings due to that, oh well.
Colorado won't be out of playoff. Not with a semi generational forward and defenseman. They will make it into the playoff.

I hope you are right. The last 3 years, we did not have much luck with our second first round pick. This year will probably be our last year of tanking. Having a top 5 and a 11-15 pick in the first round will be great for us. The dream scenario will be to draft in 2025 like San Jose (#1 and #11 2024 draft)!

What are you talking about. Hage is probably the 3rd best forward in the 2024 draft.

I just checked our extra first round picks and one is one of the best players in the NCAA with a terrible supporting cast and the other was playing PPG hockey in the AHL before his injury.

I has talking more about our second first round pick being late. We did not got ''lucky'' and had 2 first round pick in the top 15 Like San Jose, Chicago or Ottawa (#2 and #5 in 2020 draft).

2022: #26 2023: Florida going to the Stanley cup and 2024: 26 (before we trade).

We are all hoping Calgary pick end up in the range of #11-15. So we have 2 first round picks in the top 15 in the 2025 draft.

I'm losing confidence in Calgary. The losses are starting to come way more often, as expected. I don't think they'll stay out of the bottom-10 much longer.

Ah I got you!

My bad.

The west is pretty weak, they should consistently beat up on Anaheim, Chicago etc.

Not all is lost.

Like to get Desnoyers with this pick. Around 12-14th. I think he will slide a little. I would trade Savard at draft for late first to trade up
Savard will be a ufa and won't be worth a 1st at the trade deadline, he definitely won't be worth a 1st at the draft

Calgary shuts out CBJ (pick #21). Florida is only 4-5-1 in last 10. They've been struggling for a bit, but still sit with 24th pick.

Calgary hosts St. Louis on Thursday. Definitely a winnable game.

Florida is on the road @ Philadelphia. A potential loss as Flyers are playing extremely well right now, 7-2-1 in last 10. Flyers have caught the NYR.

Big heavy right shot D with a ring are in high demand at deadline

Yeah, but Savard hasn't played that well this year so that will cost us some on the value.

I think we could give a second-round pick alongside Savard and get back a first. We're at that point of our rebuild where quality>>>quantity, and we should be looking to consolidate our picks.

Let's say it's the worst-case scenario for us and we get the 8-10th pick and Florida's 26th+ pick; a draft of whomever our management prefers/is left of Eklund/Spence/Desnoyers/Frondell/Smith/Lakovic + trading-up for a guy like Jake O'Brien wouldn't be bad.

Well we got a 1st for Chiarot i would not rule the 1st out ;) Savard is a RHD with experience who won a cup. Never underestimate the stupidity of some NHL GMS.
Seriously, people here underestimate Chariot here. 6ft3 and 29 years old during his trade. He just come from a stanley cup final. I hardly believe Savard would bring us a first round pick. Maybe a second or third at best.

All of our 2nds are from non playoff teams (Montreal, Pit, Columbus). So if we give up a 2nd to get a 1st in the Savard deal, it will be trading Savard to move up from like 45th to 32nd, or 40th to 26th.

And I would still do it though!

Savard is a RD, which is more sought after. He also actually won a Cup unlike Chiarot.

I mean Sean Walker was traded for a 1st. Joel Edmundson of all players for a 3rd and 5th. Andrew Peeke for Zboril and a 3rd. Some team will be desperate for Savard.

People also underestimate how stupid NHL GMs can be when they panic. At the TDL it's more than very possible than a GM needs a RHD with experience and fan on the best options and do a panic move. When the Laffs signed Jeff Finger everyone knew it was a terrible contract but their GM still signed it.
