Rule number 1 if you wanna be IN THE MIX is that you gotta mix everything.

Mix those lines.
Eat mixed greens.
After game mixers.
Send mixed signals.
Have mixed emotions.
Fight using mixed martial arts.

If only we had Monahan and Kovacevic for one more season :/

Caufield - Suzuki - Dach
Roy - Monahan - Slafkovsky
Newhook - Evans - Whatever

Or

Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovsky
Newhook/Roy - Monahan - Dach

The expectation was Dach would be 2nd line center. He was pretty decent before his knee injury, but he's been absolutely shit. -14 is just f***ing laughable.

In hindsight, we should have signed or traded for a mid-roster center, though, because Dvorak has completely lost his ability to win face-offs, which is like the only thing he was ever really good at.

Dach & Dvorak are both playing severely below expectations. I mean Dvo had low expectations coming into the season, and he still can't manage to be even a little bit helpful.

Almost everyone on this board was excited about Dach coming back & providing us depth. Suzuki, Dach, Evans & Dvorak isn't a bad center unit - theoretically, but D & D have choked the f***ing optimism out of everyone. They've both been atrocious at center leaving us Suzuki & Evans and a not-yet-ready Kapanen as our centers.
Sadly, Dach has been very slow to recover from his knee issues.......he is 12 games in, and looking no better each game?
Some thought it would take a while before he got up to speed, but man he has not shown any improvements....they need this kid to get it going. As others have said, he could be better on the wing, than at center.

Yup, they'd be a good cycle unit. You have a speedy, defensive conscious center with a playmaker (Slafkovsky) & a net front guy in Gallagher. It would be our best defensive line by far & probably add offense in the way Tatar-Danault-Gallagher did.

Newhook - Dvorak - Anderson is a pretty ugly 3rd line, but oh well. Armia on the 4th is where he should be. Kapanen needs to be sent back to SHL.

I remember a time when Gallagher was the spark plug of this team. I know times have changed and he is older now but I like the way he is playing. He could potentially get this team going again. We need a little character and team toughness. We're way too soft, and it seems like everyone is playing for themselves, trying not to make a mistake. (Except for Hutson probably)

I feel like he finally healed up from all those injuries he had over the years. He looks much better this season.

Not even being dramatic tonight is a must win if this team is going to salvage the season at all, another blowout loss at home vs a bad team and I’m going scorched earth

Still no Roy call up is pretty crazy to me. Newhook has been a complete disaster this year yet he's given unlimited chances in the top 6.

Roy definitely deserves a call up. But the Habs are at the max 23 ron the roster. So someone will need to be sent down to make room for Roy.

Waiver exempt players who can be sent down: Heineman, Hutson, Guhle, Xhekaj, Slaf, and Struble.

None of the D's will be sent down as they are rolling with 7D. At forward, Slaf isn't going down. And Heineman is a 4th liner. Roy isn't coming up to replace him and play his role.

They can definitely place someone on waivers, but unfortunately, I don't see them placing a vet there with the intention to send him down.

People need to stop with the toughness BS. We need skills. Period. The best scorers we have atm not named Suzuki, Caufield or Slaf are Evans, Gallagher and Anderson and they are pacing for 30ish points.

You can't have a 2nd line made of 30 points players it wont work and BTW it's not working for the avs either despite a legendary 1st line. Usually i would say it's not the players fault and it's not but they are paid like 2nd line players and it's not helping.

The lack of a 2nd line is the major problem of this team along with how green the defense is and how average the goalies are. We have the same problem the avs have and the avs are 5-7 not much better than US despite Makar, Rantanen and MacKinnon.

I would send Heineman down put Newhook on the 4th and Roy with Slaf and Evans.....simple as that

Xhekaj-Struble were pretty good last game. What does MSL do? Rotate Struble and Barron again.

Stop witht the f***ing rotation. Run with Xhekaj-Struble and build their confidence. Get rid of Barron ffs. He ain’t nothing special and we already have Matheson, Hutson and Guhle that brings the same thing has him and are way better. Redundant player.

Hughes, accept your loss and moves on.
You really want to go full time with a single right handed D? Cause, as much as I like David Savard, I wouldn't be down with that.

🤣🤣

Terry Sawchuk in his prime couldn't defend the net for this team.
Nor could Turk Broda.

I just wanted to spell out his name so people have to read it in their head.

I thought it was a shame (in retrospect obviously) the Habs never sign Sawchuk/traded for him
