Flames @ Canadiens Nov 5 7pm ET

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Our top two 5 men units are not nearly tough enough we need to identify players who can bring both toughness and skill while actually being on the ice.
Slaf and Dach can bring a degree of toughness to the group but we are still lacking the type of player Josh Anderson was supposed to be.

News flash it isn't Patrik Laine.
Our problems start with our inability to win enough board battles and to make enough plays under duress.

Our D is a complete mess with only Guhle having any sort of physical toughness in the top 4.

I expressed a concern about having Matheson Hutson as our top 2 LD.
The concern had much to do with the lack of physical presence in the group.
That side was completely overwhelmed in at least two games if not more.

So not enough toughness is not BS finding those rare players who bring both Skill and a Hard Game is the one thing all GM's want.
Teams are coming in to our home rink and teeing off on us and have been for years.

When that dynasty group were honored the one thing they all said was teams knew they were in for a tough game when we stepped on the ice.

Teams do not respect us today.

I’m way more excited watching Laval games. I watch the Habs and I’m like “yep, here we go” and “why would he do that?”

this game will be dictated by the physical play down low, hence why we will lose.

Calgary will simply outwork the Habs...
For sure we often get outworked. You ever notice how we can't come out of the corners with the puck? Our lack of physical play is killing us, our first line is very small and light. Cole, Nick... and sometimes Slaf. 2/3 are not physical players, they need to figure this out one day. Cole could get 60+ goals if he can last a season physically out there.

Evans is centering the 2nd line at practice this morning

I don't mind trying these lines. Evans should be rewarded with a shot at the top 6 because of how well he's played. But overall, it feels like rearranging the deck chairs until we start playing reasonably competent defensive hockey.
