I’m an Ottawa fan and I’m elated. Not sure why these boards think that we liked Brady. You defend your players while they play for you. But let’s be honest, Brady isn’t what, their third best player at best? Staois did well on this, for a player that was clearly one foot out the door and even his own locker room didn’t like him. Sens fans by and large are pretty excited about this trade and what it means moving forward.
I am happy for you and all the Ottawa fans. You guys got rid of a headache for quite the haul. Congrats!

I mean brady is depth in a way, but im happier to see them add to a position of strength while having not a lot of options to fix the goaltending issue. We’ll see how it plays out i guess.

That top 6 is pretty wild though

You saw a cup final that featured Carter Hart, Freddy Andersen and Brandon Bussi.

At this point, you need serviceable goaltending to win a cup

Ottawa went 11-5 without Brady in the lineup last year.
Brady’s a very good unique player, this will not tank the team - both these things are true.
They were a top 3 defensive team and a top 10 offence.

They now have $8 million cap space, 3 extra first round picks (and that 2nd).
Ottawa will be fine, and if they play their hand well they will be better.

They should draft with that 9 th overall pick you can absolutely find a stud there.

Your ability to understand who is "the guy" is immediately exposed by using points/60 in a 6 game sample to demonstrate a point. Adam Guadette is 2nd on that list.
I mean yeah, Gaudette only got 9 mins a night. Everything in the playoffs revolves around performing in small samples. Gaudette produced strongly for his minutes, so he's rightfully high on the list.

Thats great, but we don’t know how that will play in the locker room yet
They’re big personalities..like I said, should be interesting seeing them play together
Grasping at straws. Marchand isn’t a big personality? He’s bigger than both combined and fit right in. Barkov runs this team and everyone knows it. He loves that Chucky, and now Brady and Marchand, grab the spotlight.

Adam '"alsmost the guy" Gaudette, one of the best to ever do it, takes a back seat to Jason "the guy" Dickinson cicra April 2026.
