I wonder what the odds are that Florida wins the cup next year... I wouldn't expect a lot more from them then this year.. window is officially closed and you just shot the future in the back of the neck execution style.
I love the cope of you guys. You want to hope so bad that the team’s core who are all in their primes is gonna end soon lmao. THERE IS NO FUTURE WHEN BARKOV, TKACHUK, BENNETT, and REINHART are cooked. It’s such a simple thing to understand but most teams that are jealous and haven’t won cannot understand.

I'd like to see the Cats continue on, win Cups and annoy folks. Watching them play is fun.

Florida has really established itself as a top destination for players to go in the last 5 years. Even when those core players start slowing down, I can see them doing small retools to keep themselves competitive. Last season was a bit of anomaly with a lot of things going wrong and fatigue from 3 SCF appearances kicking in. Reality is with the current economy and certain cities/states/countries bleeding millionaires to death with taxes, there aren’t many more attractive places to go right now than Florida. Being able to ice good teams just makes them that much more desirable.

Just an absolute awesome deal for FLA. Lose essentially nothing from your current roster AND get a Brady Tkachuk?

GL to anyone going against Florida next year in the playoffs.
The ironic part that no one us talking about is thst all those assets went to Ottawa where mismanagement is king.

No I'm not hoping for anything, they are not in their primes. You guys didn't make the playoffs this year that's a fact lol. I'm excited for Canadian hockey is all, I don't want American players on any teams I cheer for, I just feel we play different hockey in the playoffs is all. Brady peaked already you can book that and has never done anything in the post season. Florida got absolutely rag dolled in this one.

Sounds like something Spider Robinson wrote about a bar everyone wants to go to. You from BC?
Let's stick to your "they'll stay in no tax catland and live like kings."

This is a hockey market to you obviously since you made it a main point?

I will ALLOW your misinformed mindset since you know of no other.

Good luck with whatever you see as a goal next season.

So you're saying that Florida is...a Real Hockey Market(tm)?

The Tkachuks are and even you know that's a fact lol.

A hockey market has hockey in it. Unless it's not one.

Information can also be fiction. Or not.

I wouldn't know since the goal is generally behind me and I focus on the oncoming puck. But thank you.

I might be missing something here but is it not absolutely moronic to trade a 2029 1st round pick (top 10 protected) with the potential of having it slide to 2030 completely unprotected? From the team building their core around a bunch of geezers on 8 year retirement contracts? Marchand will be like 50 when that pick is made. Ridiculous.
If you could buy a new car today and the salesman tells you instead of actually paying money for the car, you might get kicked in the balls in 2030.. would you not take that deal.

This came out of nowhere for me even if Matthew was there.

Didn't think they would have had the cap, but apparently they still have over 7 millions to sign 2 goalies and a bottom-line defenseman, so will probably be no issue.

That was all wonderful. Very creative! Thank you for the time you spent on your responses.

panthers will have the benefit of being a destination for cup chasing vets, guys that will sign for $1m like petry last summer or oel before that. they also have a recent history of reclamation projects, montour, bennett, kulikov, hawks even retained on seth jones. they also are willing to add years to contracts to get the money right for the player, like marchand last summer.

-the panda plan-
bob wants 40 million, 5x8
ufa gudas 1x3
ufa cousins 1x3
that uses up the 7m in cap, so more moves to clear cap for a backup goalie & 13th forward
rodrigues to somewhere could free up 3m and get him back to a middle 6 spot instead of 4th line, thats enough to resign tarasov in goal & greer for 4th line
if verhaeghe* was asked to waive his NMC for ottawa, then he probably gave zito a list of destinations. that could free up to $7m, depending on what the trade return is. they don't need to find a 1st line lw, just the right 3rd guy to play with reinhart & barkov. that could be boqvist or luostarinen. they probably have a couple guys in ahl ready to be play on the 4th line.

*the tweet only stated that the sens wanted him, not if he was asked to waive, but he may not see much powerplay time with barkov, reinhart, bennet, marchand, lundell, 2 tchuks, forsling & jones. mikkola could be another trade option to free up cap, balinskis could be ok with ekblad if 3rd pair is kulikov & gudas

full roster and up to 12m in cap, depending on trade returns for verhaeghe, rodrigues & mikkola

(disclaimer, i am not a panthers fan. and probably wrong about ufa targets & trade bait, but this was fun to think about)
Omg @wunderpanda is a Panturds fan! 😮
