Samoskevich is a future stud for sure, that guy is gonna be good, I scooped him in a keeper league of mine and just cant wait to see what he turns into, amazing skill set and IQ

As for Chicago, minus the salary retention, the Knight pick-up is a huge upgrade for Chicago. Now all they need is a good coach.

Obviously his cap hit is high, but I think this is a great trade for the Panthers. If you put Seth Jones in a situation where he’s not expected to be a franchise player, he can excel.

Chicago retaining $2.6M (and change) for 5 years is crazy as well. Paying $13M Jones to not play for them. Good deal for both, but I could see this great for Florida as Jones for $7M until he is only 35, is insane value. He is a good player, not some bum.

There were maybe 2-3 teams that would’ve valued Knight that much considering his cap hit. Obviously doesn’t matter to Chicago and the potential is sky high, but I like the deal a lot better for Florida.

If you are getting the Jones that matches his draft year hype this seems like a great deal for Florida. I have not watched Jones play enough to make a judgement but when I did see him this year (3 times) he seemed to be all over the place putting himself in bad situations. All be it Chicago is not good so maybe he was trying to hard. Time will tell

He was the most useless head coach ever to coach in the AHL. Laval improved immediat elyfired him. The only players that developed during his tenure were players that went right to the NHL or spent less than a season in the AHL.

Really trying to come up with who won but I think it's fairly even when you factor in the idea that the Hawks get out of the deal.

Do they really get out tho... It's a lot of money retained for a potential late first 2 years from know and a struggling but talented semi young goalie
