Damn, what a big deal. I guess Ekblad wasn't going the other way, but he certainly isn't getting re-upped even for his current salary now.

Didn’t think they would retain that much, but I also didn’t think someone with as much potential and skill as knight would come back. Plus the first too is nice.

Florida went out and got a D man better than anyone on their roster now or last year. The perception of Jones will flip 180 degrees by June.

Hell, besides Hedman (TB) and Slavin (CAR), FLA now has 2 d men better than any other east contender's #1D
Who are these 2 defensemen?

If you are getting the Jones that matches his draft year hype this seems like a great deal for Florida. I have not watched Jones play enough to make a judgement but when I did see him this year (3 times) he seemed to be all over the place putting himself in bad situations. All be it Chicago is not good so maybe he was trying to hard. Time will tell

25% retained for 6 years...wow.

Really trying to come up with who won but I think it's fairly even when you factor in the idea that the Hawks get out of the deal.
Do they really get out tho... It's a lot of money retained for a potential late first 2 years from know and a struggling but talented semi young goalie
