Ross Colton, Josh Manson,Miles Woods and may be Samy Girard will be avalaible this summer . What can Avs ask for this guy?

Josh Manson and Sam Girard for Compher, 2nd and Buium.

That clears about 4.4 mil in space for Colorado and gives them a 3rd line center they’re familiar with, a high 2nd and a defense prospect that has a decent chance to play. Avs can use the cap for other moves.

It gives Detroit a guy to play next to Seider and a physical vet for the 3rd pair.

Yzerman has been miserable at evaluating NHL players so until he figures that out, they will never improve their depth. He's been fine at drafting high at least.

The North American scouting in Detroit has been miserable for over a quarter century. Fun task: try to remember the last great player the Red Wings have drafted out of Canada, the single biggest talent pool in the world.

I don't think Flyers would want players back in this instance. Berggren seems like a RW (Flyers are already loaded at RW, they want to unload them), but is fairly interesting.

The rest are dumps (which are fine), but I think the asset we'd want is that pick.

York is a 24 year old top pair d-man who plays defense really well - he has offensive upside, but it's questionable how much. Him and Sanheim have some of the best advanced metrics in the league, but Torts has made him the latest example. He's solid; not big, but would be a really good complement to a guy like Seider to form a top pair anchor for years.

Risto would be great to lead a 2nd pair. Tippett is more than a 3rd line W - you need to remember, Flyers do not have a single C that's better than a 3C. They also have the the worst powerplay of the last 3 years - like so bad, they haven't scored a PPG in March.

All offensive numbers on the Flyers are quite suppressed - every single player will produce more outside of this organization.

I think we'd be fine taking salary back - but we'd want that 10-15 pick in addition to our potential top 5 to solidify our future C depth, IMO. We don't want players back - we have prospects we want to start integrating.

Makes sense about Tippett. I remember him in Florida and Florida always torches the wings whenever we play and he was no exception. Just remember one of his goals that just ripped right into the top corner one time. Our problem is our top 6 is pretty defined. There's rumormill reporting that kane is gone, so I guess that would make sense he gets into the second pairing. Our new coach likes to run the top 3 lines somewhat evenly, just depends on which one is getting the most offense that game, so yes I said 3rd line, but our 3rd and second can be interchangeable game by game lately.

Interesting for York. If he is that good why get rid of him? Just the torts factor I can only assume.

Yes, mainly cap dumps sending back to you. Honestly, idk how other wings fans feel since I have just been balls deep in work this year, so haven't spent a lot of time on the forums, but imo I am perfectly fine with getting rid of our first rounder this year and possibly next if we are pick 12+. Honestly, just feel bad for Larkin at this point and he deserves to feel some kind of success, so bringing in FA that can provide actual, tangible improvements would be helpful. When we got Compher, I know that was Yzerman trying to get over the hump and I still like him as a player, as well as Copp...others don't feel the same. Maybe adding Compher to try and help your C-depth situation could sweeten the pot a bit?

Next year is probably the shortest leash he is going to have, so (unfortunately) I feel like he is going to swing this FA period a little harder. @Petes2424 was saying Risto was a huge possibility at the trade deadline for the wings, maybe that happens this summer instead. Yzerman only eludes to things and never outright says a damn thing, but he is eluding hard that we need to get bigger and meaner. Risto just makes sense, especially since he loves trees on our d-corps. With ASP being a possibility and ALJO becoming a mainstay, that is probably enough shorties back there for him lol.

Appreciate the response! I think the Flyers and DET could be good trading partners, but we have so much deadweight that aren't really re-tradable that it's probably tough lol. Yzerman likes to keep his 1st rounders and I can't blame him since he is pretty damn good at the first round the past 5 years. Not sure if he'd be willing to get rid of that (I want to use that for a Kyle Connor type tbh)

Well, he is actually slightly ahead of Hudler at the same age if you look at the NHL production. And NHL production is what matters in the end.

Of course his NHL resume is fairly short still, so hard to be certain how it goes from here. But bigger guys also often peak later, so there certainly can be very significant upside there.

Isles don’t need to move Romanov and Holmstrom out for hopes and dreams. That’s utterly stupid. They need to build around Horvat/Barzal/Holmstrom/Romanov/Sorokin.

I’d personally rather keep the 23 year old Simon Holmstrom and 24 year old Alex Romanov over the offer given for both. Plus it’s really not a smart move on the Isles part to move youth that’s progressing well for prospects. If they move players out it’s the Mayfield, Pelech, Pageau, Cizikas, Engvall grouping. It could sound like a poor group but if Eiserman, Ritchie and Nelson all reach their potential based on how development it’s another 3 solid pieces of youth with sizable talent to help the Isles out.
