Kane is almost PPG in the playoffs, and Ovechkin is not. Similar sample size. I can't imagine why someone would take Ovechkin.
Really? LOL!!! WTF was I looking at? JFC I'm editing that.Kane: 53+85, 138 in 143 games (0.96 ppg)
Ovi: 72+69, 142 in 152 games (0.93 ppg)
The results make me think nobody bothered to look into this lolKane: 53+85, 138 in 143 games (0.96 ppg)

Yeah because the Capitals were such a bad team lol.Wonder how Ovechkin's stats would look if he played on the super stacked Hawks. Clearly he is the better player.

I think the irony here is that the "clutch goal guy" is blowing away the goal guy.The results make me think nobody bothered to look into this lol
From the 2008/09 season until the 2017/18 season the Capitals are first in the NHL in points. The Hawks are 3rd.Wonder how Ovechkin's stats would look if he played on the super stacked Hawks. Clearly he is the better player.
Kane put up better regular season numbers later in his career, as the hawks got worse. He didn’t really get much done in the playoffs those years, but it wasn’t due to a decline in his play, which had actually improved statistically.Ovechkin at his best was the better playoff performer.
It certainly helps Kane's numbers that he hasn't really featured much in the playoffs once the decline started. Nearly all his appearances are from prime Patty Kane years.
I mean the caps and ovi aren't known for their playoff pedigree.
They had one year where it clicked but other than that Ovi's caps have never been past round 2.
