Which restaurant ?

One thing I also hate about veganism is the fake food. Its not cheese if theres no milk, its not meat if theres no meat, its not milk if its not milk, call it what it is, almond beverage, soy paste and chickpea mash.

Also theres some belief that its greener... But then you realize that like 99.999% of their food comes from a factory and its all packaged... Yeah, I wonder.

I mean if you sustain yourself on rice, beans and veggies, cool, but thats extremely rare in the vegan community.
Vegano, on Beaubien. I hate knocking a place for what it is -- the restaurant was nice, service was great. The appetizer of stuffed red pepper was delicious. But... because it was Italian, every meal was pasta, rice or potato (Gnocchi). It was okay, but not overly flavourful, and it was thick. And then there's the price -- each plate was $29.

My mother-in-law paid for everyone, so at least I'm not out of pocket. But 12 hours later my stomach's still not right.

Oreos and Coca Cola are “vegan”. If you try and live off that you won’t last long. But “whole food, plant-based” eating is certainly very healthy, though those are two different things. Vegan just means no animal products, but you can eat a million different ways under that umbrella term- keto, high carb, high protein, junk, Whole Foods etc
I like a lot of vegan food. Some of Copper Branch's stuff is delicious, plus I feel great afterwards, satisfied without being stuffed.

My issue isn't with the diet, it's with some of its poorly-informed advocates... some of whom I'm related to.

Plant based also means the beyond-meat burgers, fries, oils, soy product, etc. Its just as bad for the health as eating a typical north american diet.

Aight DGS, give me a high-protein plan that fits my goals and I swear to god Ill become a vegan. I have about 3700 calories to spare.
I had a couple of those beyond-meat burgers at a friend's BBQ this summer. They were great. Truthfully, I have no idea what's in them, only what's not in them.

Yo guys I'm in this Airbnb for the week, where the gym in the apartment has a bench, floor space, wall space, and dumb bells. Can someone recommend a few miscellaneous exercises? Thanks.

Those miracle burgers taste nothing like meat in my opinion, and the texture is even further off.

I have not looked into whether they are more or less healthy. I'll assume that they have a lower fraction of saturated fat, and are thus less healthy.

I feel the same.

I love a lot of vegan food, but none of the fake meat and almost none of the fake dairy.

Unsweetened soy milk is nice though.

Focus on the first sentence, not the second. :)

It’s also a marketing term, that’s why I put “Whole Foods” in front of it- to not include oils etc. Non-GMO whole plant foods, including soy, are definitely healthy.

In terms of a meal plan, there are definitely lots of strong as **** vegans out there. I believe Clarence Kennedy has a what I eat in a day video out there and he’s as strong as they come and a similar size to you at 220.

Also this dudes instagram is next level. 490lbs clean and jerks, crazy parkour and tricking, few dudes on the planet have that mans combination of power and athleticism.

I wonder, is the test hes on vegan or not?

Does the bench move ? If so try and hit a whole body day.

Heres exercises you should use
Chest
Bench press variations
Flyes

Shoulders
Shoulder press variations
Raises variations

Triceps
Tricep extensions variations
Tricep skull crusher variations

Back
Rows on a bench
Shrugs

Biceps
Bicep curls variations 3 sets

Quads and glutes
Split squats with foot on bench 3 sets
Lunges
Goblet squats
Hip thrust with dumbell on hips

Hamstrings
Stiffleg deadlift with dumbell
Single still legs
Romanian deadlift

Right, but the person who ordered the bean burger asked to have jalapenos among the toppings, so ultimately he is more of a man.

Its a pickle DA

There are so many brands and most don't come close to meat. This one did. It even had the pre-BBQ pink/red beef look (from beets, in this case). I don't remember the name of it; maybe it just comes down to personal taste, but it wasn't salty, mushy, or crunchy. It was tasty. Kinda' useless testimonial unless I have the name of it, I realize.

But like, do you know the names of the exercises so that I can look them up? Lol.

I can play devil's advocate here.

3,700 calories is a day is usually doable on any diet as long as you have money. There used to be this chain in Montreal called Le Commensal, from what I recall, you could probably make it to 3,700 calories there, by spending say $75, that's my honest estimate.

240 grams a day of protein, however, will be difficult on a vegan diet.

But it might simply not be good or necessary for you to consume that much protein.

Most of the protein that people consume gets converted to glucose plus waste products, with the process being energy intensive and leaving waste products that may be harmful in large doses. A tiny amount of protein gets converted to tissue. Say you're gaining 6 lbs of muscle next year, that means a protein excess of 3 grams a day. The 240 grams is overkill.

Focusing more on micronutrients could potentially give you other benefits.

I dont know, I think its about amino acids more than actual grams of proteins. Way out of my field and I dont feel like reading on it, so I stick to the 1g per pound.

Beyond meat burgers taste like propane and propane accessories, somehow. I dislike their products.

In general, the best vegan food doesn't try to imitate non vegan food. Take South indian food as an example and all you'd have to lose is ghee and paneer to make it vegan. Tofu is close enough to paneer. Middle eastern food? We talkin falafel and hummus, son.

You asked for this:

So when you going vegan?

I actually tried to eat those recipes for a day. Not possible IMO.

Losing ghee, gee, thats like losing 75% of the flavor profile man.

Not possible how? That was 240g in 3000 calories. With those extra 700 calories I’m sure you could add in some tasty vegan ice cream ;)

Vegan ice cream isnt ice cream if its vegan

You meant some tasty frozen snack made from so many freaking ingredients.

Also, I dont know, it was expensive, longer to cook and didnt actually meet my macros.

Im also unsure about the Amino acid profile, but again, as I said thats out of my league.

I honestly just hammer things like beans, lentils, chickpeas, tofu, oats, whole grains and it’s cheap as f***.
