We see Dubas getting really pissed off in the trailer, which is tantalizing.
No chance in hell they don't edit out moments that make some players look bad. They fired an AHL coach because he liked questionable things on twitter. They don't want to take any more L's in the appearance category.
Agreed.
IMO there is little chance Amazon does a "hatchet job" on them if they intend on doing something like this again with other teams/sports.
They will edit them to look as good as possible. Wouldn't surprise me to learn the Leafs had final cut approval.
Ok...it looks like people in this thread have no idea what this Amazon series is.
First of all, Amazon has been doing this series for 6 years now. They've done it with much bigger clubs than the Leafs - ie Dallas Cowboys, Manchester City, etc.
Secondly, part of the agreement Amazon signs with clubs is that they get access to pretty much everything - including the locker room and GM talks.
Despite some fans' wishes, their aim is not to do a "hatchet job" but rather to give unprecedented access to behind the scenes of the club.
Finally, Amazon does not give the clubs final cut approval. If they didn't give Manchester City final cut, I doubt they'd give one to a hockey team.
Not even gonna watch the trailer/preview, literally won't watch 1 second of footage.
Honestly, it seems insane to me that someone with 30k posts on this board would have no interest in the behind the scenes stuff of this team.
Racked up a lot of posts working overnight a few years back and when I was younger & felt more hopeful.
Last 2 seasons in particular have managed to kill the majority of my passion for them. I guess when you have high hopes and they get stomped repeatedly...this is the result?
I hear you, but you're still on here, still following the team - you're not the least bit curious at what was happening behind the scenes all year? Like we see Dubas losing his shit about something in the trailer, you don't find that remotely intriguing?
Hell, even if you're still pissed at the team - this is the first NHL team that Amazon has done this series on, aren't you at least curious to see what goes on behind the scenes of an NHL club?
I try not to publicly spout out about my fandom allegiance etc but I actually told myself I would give it about 15 days post UFA opening, look at the roster and see how I felt about the roster. With a couple of days to go, I don't feel particularly great about the roster so I will be cancelling my cable for the upcoming season, I can only speak with my wallet + tv rating.
So in a couple days I will be dropping off the Leafs forums and be mostly in the Chicago one as they're my second favorite team, I will also be catching other teams this season just to brush up my knowledge even more on the rest of the season. I tend to vary it up during the year and watch other teams anyway but this will be on a new level. Only thing is Western conference teams will be tougher to catch except for weekends.
In short though, am I curious? No, I simply don't care. I don't think Dubas is capable of assembling a team that has any potential for success. I'm sure some posters will be happy that I screwed off though![]()
That would be encouraging and all that would be left for him is to admit he bungled the makeup of the team and endeavour to fix itApparently he is losing patience with the team and the losing according to the video. Can't say I disagree with that sentiment.
In public he portrays as if everything is fine and going as planned, but behind closed doors his attitude represents Leaf nation fans better at the moment.
We're Leafs fans, we're used to watching the car crash.
