I’m asking you to give your complete opinion. You can build your opinion from the endless quotes you give. Why should I infer from all the quotes when you can simply just tell us all what your opinion is? You’ve already come this far, why back out now?

I wonder if people were this outraged when Pavel Rosa was demoted, or when the Kings didn't sign Justin Papineau.
You'd think another team would have already made an attempt to acquire Kaliyev if he's such a diamond in the rough, but it seems like some of his deficiencies is something other teams are finding to be undesirable.
Arthur has a great shot, but he needs to be in the right situation to get that shot off, and once that's taken away, what does he have left?

Why join the fray if you’re going to cower? No one asked him for his opinion until he came in being condescending towards me and then asked me for my opinion. It’s simple. If you are too afraid to talk about it then don’t start the conversation, and most importantly keep the snarkiness out of it if you are too afraid to even be asked the same question you’re lobbing towards me.

Often times fans are unwilling to throw in the towel on a prospect they are emotionally invested in. I'm sure you remember there were Aki Berg and Jamie Storr truthers until the moment they left the organization.
It still rings true today with current ones. There were people who had Bjornfot penciled in as a 2nd pairing guy as recently as last summer, and even now people still put Turcotte in scoring line roles in their lineup projections. Both those things were strictly based on draft capital/emotional investment rather than years of actual on-ice performance. I like Kaliyev, but there is certainly a lot of that going on right now too.
I do think it's more likely than not he fizzles out at this point (using the history, as I like to). But it is tough to give up on a guy who shoots the puck like he does.

As for me, I am not emotionally attached to any player on the King. I do like Fiala but I don’t care about anyone else. If I have blinders for any player it’s Fiala. The only reason I care right now is because I am fed up with this organization as a whole and it angers me we are letting prospects go without giving them a legitimate shot at reaching their potential. My issue is with the principle of the situation. And it’s just surprising people don’t seem to really give a shit about what’s going on with Kaliyev. Ziggy just said “take away his shot, what does he have?” Which is wrong way to approach the situation. Teams alone will seek out a player just for his shot, and the thing is Kaliyev is just another player on a list of prospects who has gotten shafted by this organization. My original point of contention with this matter is that no one is covering what’s going on with Kaliyev and that bothers me. How many young potential talent do the Kings plan on squandering due to their archaic methodology?

The organisation has clearly made some mistakes and like many of us I include the handling of Kaliyev to a point. So my opinion on his situation is this:
He’s a decent sniper but not good enough to bring nothing else to the table. He therefore needs as minimal level of defensive game and effort on a consistent basis. He needs to work the wall,and maintain his fitness and conditioning. There are few players that play without doing those things in todays game.
I interpreted much of what they were trying to get out of him were those things, and needed that from him to see better situational deployment. We can agree or disagree with the approach but it is what it is.
My subsequent read though is that when he was moved back to the 4th line the reaction wasn’t as it should have been - no idea if he perhaps pouted/sulked/coasted, but add that to the supposed trade request his subsequent handling by the org would be understandable. A guy in his situation should be simply getting their head down and getting on with it and if he hasn’t done that then I’d had little sympathy. He’s got talent but has not yet proven anything, as he’s not a 40 goal guy with leverage. Let’s be clear, I hope my opinion is wrong but given he was available for a mid to low pick and nobody has taken a chance, that tells me a lot. We may not know the details but other teams will.
Yes my interpretation is purely subjective and has plenty of conjecture but it fits what we know and the few quotes we have from the organisation. Not everything that goes wrong with be on
BLuc, even if they should have been jettisoned by now. I’d love nothing more to be proven wrong and for Arty to score for fun next season.
I mean prospects getting shafted by this organization isn’t newsworthy at this point. A couple months from now Clarke is going to be scoring at a 1.5PPG pace in Ontario while Spence sits in the press box every other game in a rotation with Burroughs while Englund plays his off side. A year after that, Greentree will be getting healthy scratched until after Christmas so they can slide his ELC before sending him back to juniors anyway.

The Kings are like a garden with bad soil and a one size fits all fertilizer regimen. Nothing grows well here. Like many things in life, you cant evaluate what would've happened with an alternate reality (ie a different team, or development system).. but what you can do is look at the overall picture and notice that not one f-ing top prospect has excelled early or beyond expectations. Many of the prospects have been frustrated - we learned that from Todd the Clodd re the vibes in Ontario re opportunities on the big club. I know that Vilardi was never happy based my own takes on his comments over his career with LAK. For sure Kaliyev was mishandled. They are a top down, socialist style organization where they value conformity and systems over excellence.

Well even if his rejection wasnt due to ability (dont know the story that you apparently do) - Columbus is probably the worst organization in the league and getting that gig does not prove much ability. If he landed a job with a contender I would say, maybe his value isnt as bad as I thought it was.

The difference is that Kaliyev has been incredibly productive and a net-positive influence for the on-ice results despite playing so little. Over the period of the 2021-22 season through this past season, for Kings players who have played at least 1000 minutes, here is where Kaliyev ranks on a per-minute basis:

I think his limited ice time against weaker opponents is what may be helping his cause here. Like I suggested, someone out there would give him a shot given that this data is out there and other team’s would be aware of his strengths (as well as his weaknesses).

Fortunately, we can check to see how he does when put on higher lines!
Turns out Kopitar and Kempe and Moore and Danault actually do better when Kaliyev plays with them, so it's pretty hard to say that Kaliyev can only play against weaker competition. In fact, playing up the lineup actually results in better results for the team.
If you're going to say that playing against weaker competition is boosting him based on vibes, feel free to break down his individual scoring, chance creation, chance prevention, etc. depending on where he is in the lineup.
