Skinner just can't make a save on the PK to save his life. He can't let that goal against Vegas in, you just can't. That was the game there

Go ahead goal was pretty hard to save. But the tying goal was beyond putrid
He looked like he over committed to one side on the winner. Brutal positioning.

The rumor I heard, and I have no idea if its true, is that he has some connection to the Katz family. Does anybody know if that is true? It is almost the only thing that makes any sense.

I remember someone in the MSM (Gregor?) shutting that down last year but they did it in a weaselly way where it was still possible, just not in the one specific way being discussed. I do think it has legs though, be it a romantic connection or a family friend type of thing. The only other goalie coaches with this kind of longevity are literal pioneers of the field like Korn, Allaire and Clark. Schwartz is a complete joke compared to those guys whose "success stories" are all mid goalies at best.

Fire him directly into the sun please. Let Oilers fans feel something. It’ll buy 2 months of leeway from fans.

So tell me what has he done to deserve to stay? Advocated for Campbell? Stu's stellar play? Koskinen's stellar play?
A. It's a generic gripe. Literally every fanbase cries about the goalie coach when things aren't going good w/ the team. No logic behind it, simply a lash out to fire EVERYONE for accountabilty

B. Fire Schwartz was the mantra when Stu was bad, but the team was putrid also and screened him on half the goals, but it was still Schwartz fault? Then when he played awesome and got us to a final...mums the word. How about when Smith was playing awesome....mums the word

Like I said, it's nothing more than an illogical gripe that happens when things aren't good but everyone shuts the hell up when things are going fine

Heh, remember when FlA fans wanted to fire Bob's goalie coach, but applauded the goaltending when they won? I do

He was hired a decade ago because he was in the Oilers backyard. Outside of one year goaltending has never been a strength for the team. What has he done to keep his job?

The Canucks hired a good goalie coach and look what happened there.

Ha. What happened is Hronek, and Myers figured out how to play hockey again

Also, so I guess the "goalie coach" decided to only focus on Lankinen cuz Silovs has had a major drop under this new goalie whisperer you talk of. Kind of blows your theory outta the water

Also, aside from Demko, the best goalie for Van in forever was Markstrom. So how does that explain your logic?

You’re seemingly arguing that Vancouver has had consistently better goalies than us. Again, why should Schwartz keep his job?

I could care less if he keeps his job. I just pointed out that blaming the GC is a terrible excuse

Like seriously, you just tried to credit the GC in Van when the actual fact is their starting goalie took a bigtime regression under him.

Like i said, illogical blame

Their goalie coach excused himself in the summer and changed his positon lol. Ian Clark is not the goalie coach anymore. Something is off there. I heard he is not happy. So that doesn't mesh with what you are saying about Silovs. Somebody else is coaching him.
