I noticed that when our D got the puck deep in our zone, there was no forwards helping with the breakout. In the highlight on the first philly chance, all three forward were already in the neutral zone when Chabot had the puck. He could only pass to JBD who gave it away. This happens a lot. Not sure if it's the forwards not doing their job, or a system issue. Most other teams had at least one forward helps their D with a passing option.

With Chabot being out, DJ can't just play a defender 35+ a night and it'll be interesting to see what he does. Fingers crossed that Sanderson doesn't end up being played to the bone the way Chabot is

Last time Chabot went out for an extended period we played Brannstrom 22 mins a night, he'll probably pick up a bunch of Chabot's mins again.

I noticed no one in the game thread called out Torts for pulling the goalies with over 4 minutes left.
Why would anyone call out a poor decision by the opposition that helps us? Maybe go check out the flyers board if you want to read people call our Tortalela?

Personally I thought it was a bit early, but he was down two goals, so odds were stacked against him anyways.

I'm pretty sure everyone was happy with this decision honestly since we scored and closed the game with 4 minutes to go after losing 7 straight.

Dumb decision if you ask me

I feel it's by design. We like those cheatey stretch passes.

Yeah, it's clearly part of their breakout strategy to send the long pass up to the winger at the redline who typically just tries to deflect it down into the opposing teams end. It's basically a stretch dump-in play.

I generally don't mind it in the right situation -- but the Sens use it WAY too much. And as noted by the poster you responded to, it gets them into trouble sometimes when all the forwards are up at the red line.
