Nowhere near 80% of the fans want DJS gone….. probably more like 80% of the fans could not care less.

If you think Twitter/Social Media posts mean something…. You’re mistaken. Roughly 25% of people have a Twitter/Social Media account, and 10% of those people account for 85% of the crap posted on Twitter/Social media.

Probably the same percentages apply to forums like this.

Social media voting aside, 100% of Sens fans enjoy playoff hockey so if they enjoy playoff hockey they don’t enjoy DJ Smith’s coaching

More shocked he was looking for a Jack Campbell type contract. (That could have been speculation but I read it)

You gotta welcome the new guy. I was confused but excited. Talbot was coming off a statistically good season in which he lost the job to Fleury and then regained it. However, that’s kinda Flower’s power, hahaha.
I highly doubt that's what he's after and assume there's nothing to the report or some miscommunication.

It's insane to even suggest for an aging goalie coming off an oft injured shite season. He should be taking a pay cut, not getting a raise or term.
Dorion is going to be held accountable for the first time. That is a big thing.
That's the thing. The important part to all of this, regardless of who or who isn't kept, is that Melnyk is no longer the puppet master. We should have real, professional, and accountable hockey ops going forward and it will be a breath of fresh air.

Conversely 90% of people with Twitter/Social Media accounts, account for only 15% of the crap posted.

Its due time!

Yes, that’s pretty much what I said (“Roughly 25% of people have a Twitter/Social Media account, and 10% of those people account for 85% of the crap posted on Twitter/Social media.”) in my post you quoted

Haha exactly

I do see your point, as it is ridiculous to just assume what the voting outcomes would be for a full fanbase based on a small subset of info

What I find hilarious is that you simultaneously did the same thing in your post and didn’t even realize it

Amusement level 9000

It’s like “customer feedback”… for example, if someone uses Amazon frequently, they’ll only provide negative feedback when they receive something that is nothing like they expected, and want to warn other potential customers…. And even more rarely they’ll provide positive feedback when something really exceeds their expectations.

for the vast majority of the products someone gets from Amazon, people get exactly what they expected, and see no reason to provide feedback.

I recently received an item, ordered through Amazon, that was not made from the metal they claimed, and was 25% smaller than described… so for the first time, in years I provided ( negative ) feedback to give a heads up to other customers.

Cant remember the last Sens coach to get this much love from everywhere

I would take Paul MacLean any day over DJ and he was thrown under the bus plenty towards the end of his tenure here

MacLean was a much better coach than DJ. Was able to squeeze out the absolute most out of everyone instead of just relying on one defensemen that can play 27+ minutes a night

Main difference between Murray and Dorion was Murray threw every coach he had under the bus, Dorion has gone to far the other way - he’s loyal to bad coaching

Agree. Terrible coaching.

A trait of all the Takchuks. They don’t play D in the D zone, they don’t play in the neutral zone - they save all their energy for the offensive zone - just ask Jeremy Roenick

Brady was deep on D a lot. It’s been mentioned a zillion times to anyone who listens, but the wingers blow the zone when the D have possession to drag a D out of the zone and to position themselves for stretch passes, lob passes, and beat out icings to gain o zone possession. It seems to work pretty well often enough.

Kleven has few practices with the team, and few games with the team. I’m not surprised that he’s still working out the kinks of one of the Sens transition plays.

He had a good season with a good team, and then the team tuned him out and had a poor season, and he was fired.

Was he such a better coach? He’s never been a head coach since, so its hard to tell.

I liked Paul a lot, especially his media sound bites.

Kleven is doing great but the cherry picking style I don’t I didn’t like it under Babcock and I don’t like it now.

But here’s a quote from Babcock that I think pertains to this situation in Ottawa and the players cherry picking to nuch

“We’ve got to be tight, tight, tight. I’ve always wanted it, but we could get away with it before. We don’t move the puck as well, so it’s real simple. When you’ve got Lidstrom, Rafalski, Stewie (Brad Stuart) and Kronner (Niklas Kronwall), they go back, they turn the corner and they fire it to someone who hasn’t had to work quite as hard to be quite as close, to be in the exact position. We can’t play like that anymore. We have to be closer and tighter and more available, and better defensively. Sometimes it’s not very pretty, but that’s just the way it is.”

Idk, I see a very good team that is extremely entertaining to watch, that has been in so many 1 goal games, that has beaten a number of good teams. Unfortunately, they also have made too many young player mistakes that have cost them games, if they could have won just 3 more games they would be tied for the wildcard spot, they have been so close this yr which is exactly where a number of us thought they would be this yr, just outside the playoffs.

3 games.

What a nice step up for the season despite the natural disappointment of being so close but falling short.

There are more than enough singular rookie mistakes this season where cleaning up just a handful of them would give us more than 3 games alone.

Future is bright…..
