There is no reason to think that this team will be competitive with just a new coach, and there is no reason to think we can get any type of qualified coach with new owners coming within 6 months.

4 of the top 8 NHL teams have new coaches this year - there will be list of good coaches out there when the time comes

I want him to be fired because I don’t need him to get the excuse of being let go because of a new ownership change in direction

Fire him NOW
So, you want a man to lose his job and his livelihood just because you want to win an internet argument? That's kinda f***ed up.

Can you honestly tell me that DJ is getting the most out of this team?
No he's not. I'm fully down with letting him go at the end of the season.

I'm just saying it's f***ed up that he wants him fired now for the sole reason of winning an internet argument.

I want him fired now to try and salvage the last portion of this season. Maybe we don't make the playoffs, but I would like to be the spoilers from hell for all those fighting for a wild card.

I get the sentiment, and normally would agree. But this year the top 5? 10? in the draft are well above average. Perhaps even one of the best drafts in years.

As nice as it is to win right now, losing out on a kid who could be an NHL star by slipping down 2-3 spots in the draft feels like a long term loss for the organization.

We don’t need to get rid of DJ for that.

Dorion will move the old guys for draft pick trade fodder, DJ will be forced to play some young guys and the Sens will start winning.

DJ was the right one to bring in all the young guys and make them NHL players with all the experience and instinct he has in this field.

But I highly doubt that at the current stage he has what it takes to make them winners in the NHL collectively-- his coaching is questionable, especially defensively and whenever the team falls behind.
The 5v5 scoring is appaling with all the skill they have got up front.

I think this team needs a new, experienced and tougher face on the bench, who doesn't hold back to put some responsibility into the young guys.

For DJ, I hope that he would become an assistant coach for any of the big playoff teams, learn and improve from there, because I genuinely believe that he does have the talent and heart to coach a team to a SC one day.

I think they were implying that they want DJ to know he's being fired not just because of an ownership change but rather because of performance. That's how I read it anyway, don't see anything referencing an internet argument?

What? I’m not in an internet argument

I want him fired now to see the org have standards and try to enjoy the remaining games

I know he’s gonna be gone with new ownership regardless, so I could just shut up and wait, but personally I’d like to see a change now

Need to wait out new ownership. Until then, enjoy the ride.

Grass will be greener shortly, will finally rip the last weeds of the garden out with Dorion and DJ

You want him fired now just so he won't have the excuse of being fired because of new ownership. That's some pretty sick sociopathic behavior.

Yes, I want him fired because I think he’s a bad coach and a new voice is needed.

I want him fired now, not just released because of new ownership. I think people should be held accountable for poor performances. “Just so” is your addition to my comment

Wanting him fired now is a completely reasonable stance even if you don’t like it

Wanting him fired now is a reasonable stance. Wanting him fired now because you don't want him to have the "out" of being fired because of new ownership is not.

But whatever, you do you. We all know how passionate some fans get. We all saw the hateful shit people sent to Zaitsev earlier this season. I suppose as long as you keep this on here, and don't start harassing him directly, it could be worse.

Of course it is. Having to wait on new ownership to make decisions to improve the team is not something I enjoy, although I understand.

Completely reasonable stance. I’m not harassing Zaitsev or DJ, but your moral guidance is enlightening

I will “do me”

Lol his livelihood. The guy works a job where his salary is guaranteed for the entirety of the contract even if we never win a game again and he gets prematurely terminated.
