First the Oilers get McJesus and now they have a second messiah in Jesus Hill-In-A-Lake.

I've come to understand that 'salo' has meant "island" in the olden days, but it's got tangled because they have been the sort of foresty islands that have merged into the mainland due to water draining away from between because of the post-glacial rebound effect.

J.R Skimmedmilk. I enjoy that name more than i should.

Him, Mr. Woodpecker and Väinö Kreikkalainen all going by their other variants sure saved some embroiding costs for the Oilers back in the day.

There was a good player back in the 80s named Reijo Ruotsalainen, which means Reijo The swede. :laugh:

Yea it's weird, there's also the surname 'Venäläinen' meaning 'The Russian'

There's also:

Suomalainen = Finnish
Virolainen = Estonian
Suomi = Finland
Saksa = Germany
Ruotsi = Sweden

Growing up, I knew a guy who's surname was Saksa (=Germany). His nickname was Itä-Saksa (East-Germany). :laugh:
