I’d rather not draw conclusions based on one game each. If we apply this exercise to last year you’d have much rather been Canada with a solid win over a good Finland team that nearly medaled as opposed to the US beating Norway 4-1. We all know how that tournament ended
This right here. Bad goalie plays for 2 flubbed goals that don’t go in and it’s a different talking point.

Just curious on people's thoughts - I know it's only game one of the round robin but would you rather a 4-0 win over Finland or a 10-4 win over Germany?
Well, when Canada beat Germany 16-2 in the 2021 World Juniors we got shit on pretty good for being "classless" for running up the score. Something no other country seems to have to worry about.

So I'll take 4-0 from a more prominent hockey nation just so haters won't cry.

Finland doesn't need any more paddles. They already got spanked.
Maybe the players can use that paddle
to give hard and well earned spank for our clueless bozo head coach.

Perhaps that gives him at least 1 / 3 brains to resign immidiately.
That moron named Lauri Mikkola shouldn't be coaching any serious hockey team.

Can we get a mid tourney firing?

Probably selling your team short.
I don’t believe in our coaching. A lot of weird decisions. Showed in today’s game despite the score.
Hrabal is a game stealer though.
Maybe Sweden is beatable but I’m not so sure. USA didn’t look A+ today either but Canada looks unbeatable. They usually have goalie issues but that’s not the case this year

The most dangerous thing in hockey is a two-goal lead.

Canada up 2-0 trapped in their own end with Finland pressing in the third period was a very close game.

The only shots on net that matter are the ones that go in.
Right, and Finland didn't have any that went in so it wasn't close. I really have no idea what game you watched.

Game was closer than the score indicated. George played phenomenal. Canada overwhelmed them through the first two periods but in the third I felt the Finn’s were the better team.

Rimpinen alone is making this game worthwhile, just enjoy the show man. Its hockey and youre playing against Canadians
Lol, I enjoy when Finland wins. You should know that by now ;)

Regarding Rimpinen? I hope my lousy Flyers draft him. Give us McKenna or Hagens and later on Rimpinen. Those two with Michkov and this shitty organization could actually bounce back soon :naughty:

If Boelius is top Finn for draft projected to go 4th round I think Petteri could beat that and be the new nr1.

Their goalie was fantastic and they had a great push in the 3rd but yeah they were pretty out matched in this one
They looked just as good as sweden and the caech’s did against canada I’d say. Finland has more weapons than Sweden maybe. Canada has the ability to smother teams with their skating ability.
