WJC: Finland - Switzerland

@Czechboy stupid question? But do teams have to do a loan or something if their player chooses to goto WJC? Because I thought Shane Wright was already playing for the Kraken

It's looking like a possibility now. Slovakia has a young team, but definitely talented and could pull of an upset like the Swiss are doing today.
I like the looks of the Slovak team.. I think they'll be up and down but I expect some great moments from them! Shame about no Slaf! Was hoping he'd be a last minute addition!

If it's a drafted NHL player, it's up to their club. Eg. Montreal didn't let Slafkovksy come. Wings have been notorious for not allowing guys to come for a few years now. Kulich was allowed a week ago and Jiricek wasn't realesed till days ago

Wright was a healthy scratch and sat for a long time in the NHL, then went to AHL where he excelled, now this and, I assume, back to the NHL. Seatle is also doing very well for themselves without him. I still think Montreal should've sent Slafkovsky.

The federations also lobby for their players and deal with the the NHL clubs... doesn't always work.

The Swiss kinda remind me of the Latvian team this past summer, no high end guys aside from Bisch but good skating group, plays hard defensively and just enough ability to pop a couple of goals to win some games.

Okay thank you! I’m still learning about the process regarding drafted players? And how the teams allow it. So it’s 100% team decision 👍
