WJC: Finland - Switzerland

seen people saying the swiss have one of there worse teams i mean there losing but they dont look like a team whos gonna get run over by the top teams that much tbh..
Your mistake is thinking Finland is a top team. They look horrible. The Swiss always surprise. But Finland looks bad.

Is there any Swiss prospects we should look out for? I just tuned in on NHL Network

Last 3 drafts (well 4, no one in 2020)

Bichsel would be the big star. Zanetti as well. I'm not sure if they have any undrafted guys projected for this draft? Kind of neat that they are producing such good D.

Nice to hear some Great Big Sea playing in the background... love that it's in the East!
Remember seeing them in some nondescript bar in Moncton in the mid 90's called the angry irishman when no one knew who they were and there was like 10 people in the place.

They did fairly well after for themselves after they made it through the "payin your dues" years

Lian Bichsel and Brian Zanetti are the only drafted ones however there are some potential overager draft eligibles(rodwin Dionicio or Lorenzo Canonica who was once highly touted…)

Awesome thank you!!! ❤️ I’m going to goto the prospect draft board. And evaluate the positions later. You are so kind thanks!

Switzerland has been straight up the better team so far. Playing diligently to the gameplan, frustrating the Finns. Finnish coaching hasnt found the way to break the D so far.

Almost a through the legs goal there...

Honestly, hats off to the Swiss for making this a close game. Nice third incoming!

Thank you! I’m not very familiar with both teams
Finn's have 2 future NHLers not getting much love. They also look to have a VERY good crop for next year's draft (2024). This draft is a bit of a lull by their high standards.

Kemmel is 13th forward which is baffling to me.

Aaran Kvirujarhu (who's name I butchered, apologies) could be in the 1OV conversation in 2 years but he is 'cut' (but may still be with the team). He's a young D who looks amazing but he's very young so I can understand the cut.

Brad Lambert: “We’re playing the game down to their pace, which is hurting us a little bit.”

16 shot to 9 for Switzerland. As a Swiss, I'm pretty surprised as I rode that this team just wasn't good enough. They seem pretty solid to me.

The Swiss are very good skaters and they have been covering their own zone diligently so far. A very few shooting opportunities for Finland, and just a bit more for the Swiss. Neither team has been looking exactly creative in the two periods. It has been more about drill and grind that any beautiful plays. The ice has been looking small, almost no room for smart passes. A really tough game.
