Filip Zadina, who went 6th overall in 2018 is one of the biggest draft busts in NHL history.
He was a consensus top 3 pick going into the draft, fell to 6th where he left 3 different fanbases questioning why their teams didn’t select him and now, heading into his 5th professional season, has been a healthy scratch for all but one game.
What a fall from grace this player has seen, he didn’t even fill Montreal or Ottawa’s nets with pucks like promised.

Is he a bust? Yeah probably. One of the biggest in NHL history, no not even close. He's still a marginally useful player, just has no offense whatsoever.
I think that’s where the debate of ”bust relative to expectations“ comes in In the biggest bust debate. Zadina had so much hype surrounding him Coming out of junior and many proclaimed Detroit the winners of that draft because of Zadina falling. A lot of hype around this guy.

He was a 6th pick, not a first overall. Again, he's not even close to being one of the biggest busts in NHL history. Google it and you'll see what a real bust is.

He’s probably somewhere around 100th biggest bust in NHL history… if that’s “one of the biggest in NHL history” to you then sure…

There’s top 5 picks who could barely get into the NHL at all

He’s very very bad and likely out of the NHL shortly, but he’s farrrrr from the biggest in NHL history.

Yakupov was supposed to be an absolute star and “Bure clone” to some, drafted 1st overall.

Had one good shortened season and then quickly out of the NHL.

Biggest bust in NHL history is a bit bold, but yeah, Zadina is bad.

He's running out of time. He has the tools to be a good player, but just can't figure it out.

Nah
Juolevi got worse every year

And Reinhart I Believe is playing in the North Korean Hockey league
He’s up there for the same reason Daigle is consitered a bigger bust than Stefan/Yakupov even though Daigle had the better NHL career.

The hype around Zadina following his WJC preformance as a 17 year old was insane. Then he fell to 6 and the hockey world lost their marbles.

Reinhart never had the hype behind because of the game he played even in junior, he wasn’t very flashy, just a big, steady defender. Zadina is the bigger bust relative to expectations.

Juolevi is in a similar boat however.
