So, are you insinuating that Canadians have no skill, or that NHlers all together have no skill?

Either way, your statement is a joke...

most statements by this poster have been in this tournament so far.... i wouldnt get worked up about it

Is it just me or has Jarome Iginla been one of Canada's worst players recently? It seems to me like he is bringing the Sakic line down, and yet he always has puck posession when that line is on the ice.

Chris Pronger to, sluggish and dumb penalties.

Canada doesn't even look like a podium team. Look on the bright side, at least the foreign posters will get a chance to get their shots in.

We don't need foreign posters, we've got our own jumping ship already. Pathetic really.

Yeah, no arguments there.

Personally, I don't buy the "refs were horrible" excuse at any time. I've only ever seen a handful of occassions where MAYBE it was warranted.

All in all this has been a well officiated game. Thus far. ;)
Exactly, the refs have called this tournament like gods compared to the atrocius WJC's. *shudder*

You know, sometimes you can stick with your famous, household vets for one tournament too many. (I'm not even going to discuss Pat Quinn, who clearly wants his teams to play catchup.)

At the inaugeral World Cup, the team had some aged guys. Right now I'm looking at a team that's playing like a team and is very quick (Finland). Maybe age has nothing to do with the former (team play) but it might be connected to the latter (quickness).

How come you don't see half of these Europeans try this hard in the NHL?

Chris Pronger really worries me as a Canadian fan and an Oiler fan. He has been very good for the Oilers this year but he has a broken foot now and it really shows. I wish Phaneuf was in his spot.

20 min. man we just need 1 goal to get the momentum and the jump like we had from our first 2 canadian lines man, Heatley had a good shift, Doan finishing the check on the PK, altho this game isnt the "must win" you know team Canada is goin out for the 3rd fired up.

And that supposed to be a BAD thing?

At the exclusion of every thing else yeah.

Passing plays are impossible because you have to throw the puck 235 yards for a pass. PP's are all about point shots becasue your slot players are too far out for one timers. Not to mention nobody is running into anybody.

Again compare the Olympics to best of tournaments on NA ice. No competition.

The Finns are looking very, very good. I can't imagine how good this team would be had they had Tuomu Ruuttu and Pitkänen in the lineup too.

Pitkänen is the one I'd really like to see on big ice. He moves so good around the ice and has a tremendous vision. Sami Kapanen has always been extremely good on the big ice too. Last time he played in the Worlds, he was named the best forward of the tournament.

its funny... when we win its because of the refs and when we lose the ref are acting like gods...

You guys should stop calling us whiner and look at yourself in the mirror

MAN, I wish he was playing for Russia.

I agree, but you have ovechkin and sorry who was the other guy with 4 goals...

How would you think of a gold medal game between Russia and Finland? I would cheer for the Finns sorry....

Finland is working like a team and is more than just good on the paper = winning concept. I would love to see Sweden with a speedy team like that but we are so zzzzlow..

What pisses me off the most is the fact this team can't score.
I wasn't excited one second in the second period even though they got more shots.
I don't care about the result of this game anymore, JUST SCORE A DAMN GOAL.
Sadly they won't. They never take the rebounds, never. The forecheck is inexistant and their shot accuracy is the worst in the world. *** is going on ?

Nothing will change though, even if finland won gold here. Come the next tournament and everyone in HFboards goes on about "Could Canada's 6th team beat Finland??" and most will rank them 6th or 7th. Bronze in nagano, dropping 2-1 to Canada in Salt lake, 2nd in world cup....but every time this team is "a surprise" for everyone.
