I Don't understand why this team is playing so bad.

Could you people at least be frank, and admit that it's team Finland that's just been better.

Chris Draper just said so in his interview.

I see nothing wrong with admitting that another team is better than yours (at least today).

Well, maybe it's just that Canada > World, so it can't be happening???

Nevertheless, the game's not over yet, stop complaining and cheer for your country, people

I think this game is an uphill battle for Canada that Finland has already won.

Well, at least we can all take solace in the fact that professionals don't think like that, so they will at least try.

40 mins to go in a preliminary round game. Lots of hockey to go.

Not to say this isn't concern, this team has got to come together quickly.

Wow the Finns are outplaying us using Canadian style hockey. I love how hard they work.

I think for Canada to get back in this game we have to do exactly what the Finns are doing, start hitting, start passing, and start playing as a team. But, who-da-thunk right.

I could recall how people were making fun out of me when I picked Finland to win the gold in the poll thread.

I FEEL VINDICATED.

They haven't won anything yet. :teach:

But still, now everybody here is saying how finland will win the gold. Bunch of band wagon hoppers. I predicted finland for gold before the tournament began.

Will the real Chris Pronger please stand up, he was borderline useless out there. He needs to be a leader especially with our D struggling.

Good point, but he does have a broken bone in his foot. He probably should not be there.

You're the last one that should be telling anyone to be about frank (by which I assume you mean objective).

Do people really think having Spezza, Staal and Phaneuf with Quinn out would make a difference? Enough with the excuses. This is the best team on paper in the tournament, but they don't move their feet, they don't fight for the puck, they just aren't working at all. Its a lack of any real effort game after game thats gonna send this team home in the first round.

I agree with you + big ice surface is a factor, it's not NHL (+ international rules)

Big ice surface allows smaller players to dominate with their speed and passing. In NHL they most of them would get killed.

When my country sucked in the 3rd period vs slovaks, I said so.

No excuses, amigo.

I would expect the same from you guys.

chill out dudes, it's been only 1 period. 20 minutes. 33% of the game has been played.

The cross check was Bs... the guy dived on the goaltender

And NASH's penalty was a really bad call... the finn checked nash on the goaltender...

The Canadian team is playing like ... we dont need bad reffing too
stop it with the refs. the canadians are getting owned and the refs are fine.

the past 3 pages are all almost the exact same....

"Canada sucks, the refs are cheating blah, blah, blah" Shut up with that....

anyone can come out flat if they do i the 2nd what they did in the first then i'll start to really wonder.....

Most posts have stated exactly that - mine included. The Finns have outclassed the Canadians in every aspect of the game so far.

Canada look an awful lot like Quinn's Leafs right now

taking bonehead penalties, getting outplayed, outskated, etc.

I'm going to bet that in about 40 mins, this thread is going to turn very nasty. :D

This is the first post I've read since my original, and I'm afraid to look.

I hope our guys can start playing a little better...that first intermission could not come fast enough.

The second period just started so I'm heading back to watch, but I have to say one thing: This Finnish team is awesome.
