May of 1967 when George Armstrong was presented with the Stanley Cup.
Montreal had a plan to display the Cup at Expo 67. I guess the Leafs didn't think that was such a good idea.:D

When Toronto kept playing and upsetting the Sens in the playoffs. I have family in Ottawa so it was especially funny.

93 playoffs...

Nikolai Borchevsky game 7 Vs Wings.

Okay, basically everything from that 93 Playoff run.

Favorite Memories..

1 - Mid 80's leafs. I started following the team, they werent the Oilers, but they were on CBC before bed, and I loved watching the high scoring games. Soo many 5-4, 6-4 games. Bad record, and bad defense meant nothing to me then. Just fun to watch. Leeman, Damphousse, Courtnall, Bester, Iafrate, etc.

2 - Sundins 500th still gives me chills to this day.

3 - Gilmour goal on Cujo in OT.

4 - 93 OT goal on Detroit. The team celebration was so memorable.

5- Multiple years of beating Ottawa in the playoffs.

ahhhh that goal song from the early 2000's just took me back man...wow lol.

Awesome thread put a huge smile on my face. I'm in my mid twenties so I don't remember any of the early 90's runs, but the late 90's early 2000's are my fondest memories of this team. The ACC used to get so wild during those runs, cant wait to see this team competitive again so Toronto can become one of the premier destinations to play once again.

Borschevsky
Gilmour wraparound in OT
Anderson in OT game 5
Wendel tying it in game 6 with potvin on the bench
Valk in OT game 6 vs Pens
That game 5 OT vs the Sens where stumpy scored from berezin
Sundin tying it late vs Carolina

Was at the Gary Roberts triple OT goal and Cory cross OT goal both against the sens

I feel like this thread comes up every 6 months and I post in it every time

Most people won't remember this one, but it sticks out for me.

1993.

Game 7 against St. Louis. Cujo had been incredible for the Blues in that series, but in the final game the Leafs blew them off the ice 5 or 6 zip.

I was 18 and playing in a men's fastball league and we had a party that night to watch the game. I was a few months away from going away to college and it was just one of those nights that stands out.

A late 80's game, think it was Edmonton where the Leafs almost came back to win a regular season contest. Was something like a 13-11 final.

Did you mean Mirko Frycer's 4 goal night where the Leafs beat the Oilers 11-9?

Palmateer making saves like this.

or coming out of the net to almost centre ice.

Tom Watt flips out and kicks milk crates. Also recall head coach Tom, banging his fist on the sign behind him, after a Leafs loss.
Late 80's? Early 90's?

I'm an older guy and can remember the four Cups in a six years span in the sixties. Standout memories....

Leafs down 3 games to 2 in the 1964 finals against Detroit. Game six goes to overtime. Hard rock defenseman Bobby Baun, injured earlier in the game and barely able to move, sends a fluttering shot on net from the point. Somehow, it goes in. Leafs win and then take game 7 and the Cup. Here's the best part: Baun had been playing on a broken leg.

And then the aging Leafs, with 10 players over 30, are up 2-1 late in the deciding game of the 67 finals against the Habs. Habs pull the goalie and are pressing. The puck squirts free onto the right wing. George Armstrong gets his stick on it, takes a few arthritic looking strides and calmly shoots the puck into the empty Habs net. If I close my eyes, I can still picture it.

Maybe.... there's another memory like that in our future. For the first time in a long time, that hope doesn't seem ridiculous.

I actually attended Game 2 in the 62 cup finals(3-2 Leafs win btw Ron Stewart had a great game), my dad took my brother and I... we sat last row in the golds just to the left of the Leafs bench..it was the 1st NHL game I saw live up until then I was a Red Wings fan(Gordie Howe and all that) but became a Leafs fan for life that night

they still had the old score clock in those days

it was actually the Chief's 86th BD on the 6th...... a captain of 4 cups and not one mention on here:shakehead

Although likely not as memorable to the masses as my earlier memories post (Borchevsky OT in Det and Clark game tying goal in LA), these are also memories for me, in no particular order...

- Ken Wregget with a "miraculous" point blank glove save off of Gino Cavallini against the Blues at MLG (I think it was a playoff game but can't remember for sure)... Bob Cole went nuts

- Robert Riechel's penalty shot slap shot in the playoffs against Roman Chechmanek and the Flyers

- John Kordic getting body checked into the penalty box at MLG

- Tie Domi beating that Flyers fan at the Spectrum in the penalty box

- Wendel Clark's return to Toronto against the Dallas Stars

- Ed Olzcyk and Mark Osborne getting traded to Winnipeg and playing the very next night for the Jets in Toronto... Eddie O cried during his interview with Dave Hodge during the intermission

- Pat Burns trying to fight Barry Melrose during the 1993 playoffs at MLG

- Felix Potvin pummeling Ron Hextall at the Spectrum in Philly

- Dave Andreychuk scoring his 50th goal in Winnipeg

- Mike Foligno serenading the crowd singing on the microphone at the Kitchener Auditorium during an exhibition game that was delayed when the lights went out

- Gary Leeman scoring #50 against the Islanders at MLG

- Al Iafrate winning the hardest shot competition at the All-Star game

- Vincent Damphousse scoring 4 goals at the All-Star game in Chicago and taking home the game MVP (back when the ASG was actually somewhat competitive)... his fourth goal was a top-shelf beauty snipe on Andy Moog

- Sergio Momesso of the St. Louis Blues scoring from outside the blue line on Allan Bester in the playoffs at MLG

There's so many more but I should get out of the office now and start the weekend.

Cheers!
