One of the biggest would be Bill Barilko's final goal.

In the Stanley Cup finals of 1951, the Leafs and Habs met in overtime for 5 games.

On April 21, 1951, Howie Meeker and Harry Watson set up a diving Bill Barilko scoring an amazing goal to end the deciding game at 2:53 in overtime for the Leafs to win the Cup!

Bill Barilko tragically passed away in a plane crash months later after scoring the game winning goal and is one of two Maple Leafs that has his number retired, the other being Ace Bailey.

I'm really showing my age here but what the hell. I'm a Habs fan but growing up (and to this day), I cheered for any Canadian teams in the playoffs with just a couple rare exceptions. Anyway, the glory years of my youth were spent playing pond hockey and watching HNIC with my cousins. I remember vividly watching the Leafs-Blues game on CBC in the '87 playoffs when Ken Wregget made that glove save on a shot by Gino Cavallini which Bob Cole called "miraculous". Anyway, I have only been able to find one video of that save on YouTube and that is in a montage from a fan. I know the date was April 12, 1987 and it was game 4 in Toronto...but that doesn't do me any good because I can't find the game or the save. Can anyone out there help me out? I'd love to watch the entire game again but I'd settle for the save. And yes, as a die hard Montreal Canadiens fan that save IS my favorite Leaf memory :)

For me that is one of the worse memories as a Leaf fan.
Flyers scored the series winner seconds later, NHL went into lockout soon after and the Leafs were shit for a decade give or take.

yeah, but for a second there, this was glorious

still cant fathom how they let Roenick come in on a 2 on 1 twice in a row.

Too many but sittler's 10 point night, every single time we eliminated Ottawa from the playoffs, salming finishing the game after getting over 100 stitches, the end of the Ballard regime, drafting Matthews, etc

1) Toronto wins Stanley Cup in 1967 on George Armstrong empty net goal May 2, 1967 putting Leafs up 3-1 and insuring the series win, & then and my favourite Leaf hero growing up Davey Keon named Conn Smythe Trophy playoff MVP winner. Little did I know at the time how cherished a memory that would become sitting here 54 years and counting for another Leafs Cup. So proud I wore my #14 Leafs jersey to school for an entire week straight.

2) Darryl Sittler - 10 points night in Feb 7, 1976 . Something you're only going to see once in a lifetime if that.

3) Lanny McDonald OT goal vs NYI in 1978 send the Leafs on to round #2 against Montreal.

4) Paul Henderson as a member of the Leafs representing Canada scores the winning goal in 1972, with 34 seconds remaining in the historic eight-game 1972 Summit Series
between hockey superpowers Canada and the Soviet Union.

5) Dougie Gilmour's wrap around goal in epic battle against Cujo and the Blues in the playoffs in 1993 in 2nd OT. I thought this team was destined for greatness as they made the final 4 in 1993 and 1994 and hopes of another Leaf Cup was in reach.

My memories aren't exactly clear but I do have some vivid impressions of going to my first Leafs game. The excitement of first walking into MLG and through one of the entrance doors and then walking into the bowl and seeing that Maple Leaf centre dot bi-sected by that vivid red line. I couldn't believe how big the arena was and all the seats(capacity was just over 13,800 with standing room), and then how blue the uniforms of the Leafs were as they skated out onto the ice, in those days watching from home was a black and white experience on a fuzzy 14" screen. This was the day I became a Leafs fan, previous I had been a Red Wings fan and a Gordie Howe acolyte. The opponent that beautiful spring day was the Chicago Blackhawks, boy oh boy was Bobby Hull ever fast and Stan Mikita was every bit as slick as he was dirty, think Brad Marchand with more skill! I walked home from school that day with my brother our coats over our shoulders, I was hoping I could talk him into playing catch in the back yard with me. As soon as we got through the door my Dad said go and get cleaned up and put on your best clothes not even a hello and I wasn't about to question him because it usually meant something good was going to happen. Into the car and onto the QueenE and headed to Toronto.

I've been a fan since like '08 so there isn't a lot of success to marvel at.

- winning the Matthews lottery
- Matthews 1-0 goal in game 5 against Boston in 2019. Thought we'd win that series after that game.....
- The comeback against CBJ in 2020
- Kapanen's short handed goal in game 7 against Boston
- Clinching the playoffs against Pittsburgh in 2017
- The 8-6 game against Carolina a few years back

Here's a different one:

I attended Sittler's first game in Toronto with the Flyers after he was traded (81-82 season). Johnny Wayne of Wayne & Schuster fame was sitting nearby, and when someone presented Sittler's wife with flowers, he yelled out, "You're still ugly!"

I'm an older guy and can remember the four Cups in a six years span in the sixties. Standout memories....

Leafs down 3 games to 2 in the 1964 finals against Detroit. Game six goes to overtime. Hard rock defenseman Bobby Baun, injured earlier in the game and barely able to move, sends a fluttering shot on net from the point. Somehow, it goes in. Leafs win and then take game 7 and the Cup. Here's the best part: Baun had been playing on a broken leg.

And then the aging Leafs, with 10 players over 30, are up 2-1 late in the deciding game of the 67 finals against the Habs. Habs pull the goalie and are pressing. The puck squirts free onto the right wing. George Armstrong gets his stick on it, takes a few arthritic looking strides and calmly shoots the puck into the empty Habs net. If I close my eyes, I can still picture it.

Maybe.... there's another memory like that in our future. For the first time in a long time, that hope doesn't seem ridiculous.
Same for me - four Cups in the sixties!

1967. 55 seconds left in the game, and a faceoff in the Leafs end. Allen Stanley takes the draw, pulls it back to Red Kelly, who passes to Bob Pulford, who hits George Armstrong for the empty net clincher.

Calling the Gardens in the fall of '72, and hearing "Maple Leaf Gardens - home of Paul Henderson" after he scored the winning goal in each of the last three games in the Summit Series.

Brian Glennie hitting every Islander in sight in the '78 Quarter Finals. (I didn't realize he had a bronze medal from the '68 Olympics.)

January 8, 1986. Oilers in town. Gretzky with a hat trick and six points, Kurri with six points. Miroslav Frycer tops them with four goals (three in the third period) including the game winner, as we won a game of pond hockey 11-9.

May of 1967 when George Armstrong was presented with the Stanley Cup.
Montreal had a plan to display the Cup at Expo 67. I guess the Leafs didn't think that was such a good idea.:D
The only time I ever heard Jean Béliveau swear was talking about how that ruined a streak of five consecutive Cups for them.

Meeting Lucien Deblois at the PM Toronto bar across from the gardens when I was a kid. Was hoping to meet Wendel as he was 'dating' a server there and came in a lot. He didnt show but Lucien was there. I bought a beer and sent it over (my dad did but i got to pretend) He totally left his own table and friends and sat with us for about 30 mins. Smiling now like a fool remembering it.......the little things these guys do for fans is underappreciated

Mats Sundin 500th goal in Leafs' win - his hat trick, 500th career goal in comeback overtime victory against the Flames.

Wendel taking on Bob Probert. Also all the times Wendel had the entire other team going after him and would tkfo the first guy in line. Sometimes the next guy too. Was great.

It has to be when Gilmour and Clark were making a run… we haven’t come close to that since.

My dad took me to a game in 1986 vs Detroit. I was 6. They won 6-3. It was my first time in the city too. I will never forget it. One day I will take my son too.
