How did the Dominator not make a favorite goalies list??

Richter and Hasek, followed by Beezer and CuJo for me. Although my favorite goalie moment might be Roy's spin-o-rama on Gretz.

Non-goalies: Mess, Leetch and Graves, obviously. #99. Amonte. Esa. And Zubov. I loved Zubov.

You know, it's funny. Always respected the hell out of Hasek's talent, but never considered him a favorite.

Strangely enough, I just always gravitated toward North American players.

Barry Beck
George McPhee
Barry Beck

HM- Normand Rochefort

You liked Bubba so much you named him twice? I do not blame you. Beck was pretty darn cool. I could name a dozen guys from 1979-1984 Rangers teams that were my favorites.

I almost named him 3 times but how could I leave out Georgie??? Nicky is also close to my heart as well I loved how he made us 30 pounds heavier when we went into the Spectrum...I could go on and on about the 70s and 80s...Absolutely loved le Nordiques so fun to watch the Stansty line....And loved those Flames teams with Hunter and Peplinkski ....When Hockey was Hockey

Some of our younger posters may not know what you mean regarding Nicky but you are exactly right. Nicky taking on Wilson really set a tone for the 78-79 Rangers after years of being bullied by the dirty Flyers. Homgren wanted nothing to do with Beck after their legendary fight when Beck was a rookie. I believe Beck was close with guys like McPhee, Johnstone, and Pierre Larouche.

I will never forget being a little kid going to a exhibition (not a preseason) game between the Rangers and the Isles. It wasn't at MSG. I do not think it was at Nassau Coliseum either. Before the game Murdoch was snapping the puck straight up and hitting the roof of the building. He was my favorite at that time. It is a shame what happened to his career. Even when he was in the Redwings minors I followed his career. I remember my dad writing down on a piece of paper to watch #77, #7, and #14

#14 has been my number for a long time because of Murdoch. I remember following him after DET when he became EDM property and became #47 -- set a record with 5 goals in a game as a rookie.

Yeah #14 never seemed the same after Donnie was traded. I believe he went to Edm first and then to Det. As a kid I never understood that trade but now as an adult I do understand it. In a book I have they show the pic after the game with Don and the 5 pucks. That may have been in the first week of his NHL career. Espo tried to get Don another shot for a while.
